We will take a look at those prospects who have picked up division offers so far this summer, and a little about their game. Here’s a look at part two of the 2025 MD prospects who have new schools recruiting them this summer.
Marcus Jackson Marcus Jackson 6'8" | C John Marshall | 2025 State #161 Nation VA | 6’8” C | Edmondson-Westside
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #7
Spring/Summer Offers: Illinois, Georgetown
Jackson came on late during the high school season for his Edmondson group which features one of the top front courts in the Baltimore area, and then he followed it up with a great summer splitting time with Thrill and Loaded VA. He picked up multiple high major offers and he’ll see that list grow as he still is pretty raw even if he has a solid skillset already. At 6’8” he has good size but seems to play even bigger than he is as he’s an explosive finisher and rebounder in the paint, he runs the floor well and can chase down blocks defensively, he protects the rim and rebounds in and out of his area and he is showing improvement in his ball skills and ability to step out too.
Acaden Lewis Acaden Lewis 6'2" | PG Sidwell Friends | 2025 State #149 Nation MD | 6’2” PG | Sidwell Friends
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #9
Spring/Summer Offers: St. Johns, Providence, Georgetown, Oregon, Penn State, Howard, George Washington
Lewis was the floor general of the very talented Sidwell Friends team that was one of the best in the DMV this past season, and he is emerging as a high major recruit who showed on the EYBL and in many camps this summer he can hang with the absolute best of them. The smooth lefty is a knock down shooter from deep who can create space and stop on a dime and he has effortless range, he has tremendous poise and feel with the ball in his hands, he touches the paint and is a crafty finisher around the rim and he simply makes everyone better while making it all look very easy. He’ll be in the conversation for a nationally ranked player and his stock is just going to continue to soar from here.
Omarr Smith Omarr Smith 6'3" | SG City | 2025 State #319 Nation MD | 6’3” SG | City
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #10
Spring/Summer Offers: Providence, UCF, UMass
After a solid freshman season, Smith burst onto the scene during his sophomore campaign at City and he had a big time summer running with Team Thrill where he proved to be a very intriguing prospect and the offers are starting to role in. He’s another smooth lefty who can score the ball from all three levels with ease, he has long arms and great body control as a finisher at the rim, he shoots it well from deep and he has a competitive chip and a winning demeanor about his game. It’s just getting started as he’ll be one of the best guards in the Baltimore area over the next few years.
Jayden Fort Jayden Fort 6'8" | PF Jackson-Reed | 2025 State #128 Nation MD | 6’8” PF | Jackson-Reed
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #11
Spring/Summer Offers: Texas A&M, Saint Louis, George Washington
Fort started to show his big time upside before the high school season and had a very good season for Jackson-Reed, and he’s continued to improve and polish his game he started to see coaches take notice this summer as he picked up a handful of very good offers. Fort is a new age kind of forward who runs well and is an athletic finisher both in transition and in the half court, he has good hands and feet in the paint, he has touch around the rim with both hands and has shown the ability to step out and he plays with a great motor on both ends of the floor. He’s just continuing to get better and better and will see his stock continue to rise in the near future.
Akbar Waheed | 6’5” CG | Georgetown Day
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #12
Spring/Summer Offers: Providence, Bryant, Mount St. Mary’s, Howard, Albany, Hofstra, Boston College
Waheed has been one of the most talented guards in the DMV over the past few years, and now that he’s the go-to guy on this Georgetown Prep team he’s able to show everything he’s got and his offers are starting to roll in due to it. He has great positional size and a deep bag of tricks to go along with it as he’s able to use his handle and quickness to get to spots and rise over defenders to make shots, he gets to the rim and is a good finisher and he has the ability to make plays for others too. He’s starting to see the high major schools come in and that should continue as he puts up big numbers on a regular basis.
Adrien Stevens Adrien Stevens 6'4" | SG Bullis | 2025 State #113 Nation MD | 6’4” SG | Bullis
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #14
Spring/Summer Offers: Maryland, Loyola, Towson, Penn State, Providence, VT, Rhode Island, George Mason, Xavier, St. Joe’s, Butler, Marquette
Stevens has been the one that has absolutely blown up, as he came into June with very little collegiate interest and now sits with double digit offers, many of them being the high major variety. He showed as a sophomore that he can make shots, and he’s rounded out his game to be an all-around scorer and an overall productive player. He’s got a great frame and he’s strong enough to play through contact when he gets downhill, he hits shots from deep and in the midrange both off the catch and off the bounce, he is a good finisher who is getting more and more explosive and he’s blowing up on the national level at this point.
