We will take a look at those prospects who have picked up division offers so far this summer, and a little about their game. Here’s a look at part one of the 2025 MD prospects who have new schools recruiting them this summer.
Cameron Ward Cameron Ward 6'6" | SF Largo | 2025 State #30 Nation MD | 6’6” WF | Largo
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #1
Spring/Summer Offers: WVU, Maryland, VCU, Syracuse, Tennessee, Providence, Arkansas, Iowa, Texas, ODU, Texas A&M, Penn State, Kansas State, Georgia Tech
Ward has shown since day one that he’s one of the most talented players in the country in the class of 2025, and he had a very good summer with Team Durant 16U and his offer list just continues to grow. The nationally ranked wing is up to over 20 offers now with a ton of schools from across the country coming in as of late, and it will continue to grow as he he’s already very polished and productive every time he’s on the floor. He has a great frame that is strong and has long arms to finish and challenge shots, he scores the ball well from all three levels, he’s a big time athlete who thrives in transition, he can punish smaller defenders in the paint and he is an unselfish playmaker with a great feel as well.
Nykolas Lewis Nykolas Lewis 6'2" | PG Gonzaga | 2025 State #146 Nation MD | 6’2” PG | Gonzaga
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #2
Spring/Summer Offers: Georgetown, Tennessee, Iowa, Xavier, Providence, Oklahoma State
Lewis blew up during his sophomore year at Gonzaga, and he continued that stellar play all summer with Team Takeover and Gonzaga and even has been invited to USA basketball a few times. The 6’2” lead guard is a dynamic scorer who can create for himself off the bounce with his ability to create space and his quick release, he is shifty off the bounce with good burst that allows him to get in the paint where he’s a good finisher, he gets hot quickly and fills it up in bunches and he can make plays for others as well. He’s already a nationally ranked and highly touted recruit that is considered one of the best guards in the country, and he still has room to get better moving forward.
Tyler Jackson Tyler Jackson 6'2" | CG St. Frances | 2025 #40 Nation MD | 6’2” CG | St. Frances
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #3
Spring/Summer Offers: Houston, Syracuse, Alabama, Penn State, Cal, VT, Pittsburgh, ODU, Nicholls, LSU
Jackson saw his stock take off going into the summer, and he’s only increased that stock by picking up offers left and right due to his ability to score the ball in so many different ways. He’s a slippery guard with a tight handle and the ability to create space whether it’s using his burst to get downhill or by using the step back, he makes extremely difficult shots from all three levels off the bounce, he gets to the line often and he’s able to finish through traffic and he stays aggressive and looks for shots for himself and his teammates. He’s another guard that is highly touted and nationally ranked, and he’ll have his pick of schools when it’s all said and done.
Jalen Rougier-Roane Jalen Rougier-Roane 6'5" | CG Sidwell Friends | 2025 State #142 Nation MD | 6’5” CG | Sidwell Friends
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #4
Spring/Summer Offers: Providence, Xavier, Towson, Penn State, George Washington, Buffalo
Rougier-Roane is part of a Sidwell team that has become one of the most deep teams in the DMV as far as talent goes, and after a successful sophomore campaign he had a good summer with Team Durant and saw his recruitment take off during the live periods. At 6’5” he has exceptional positional size that allows him to see over defenders and make good decisions with the ball in his hands, he can get to spots off the bounce where he’s able to make tough shots in the midrange, he scores it from all three levels and he can move off the ball where he works well on cuts and coming off screens to get open. He’s a two way impact player who still has a lot of room to get better and his upside is part of what makes him so highly touted right now.
Derek Dixon Derek Dixon 6'4" | SG Gonzaga | 2025 State #153 Nation MD | 6’4” SG | Gonzaga
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #5
Spring/Summer Offers: Providence, Xavier, Penn State, Maryland, Syracuse, VT, Villanova, UVA
While coming into the high school season all of the talk was about Lewis, Dixon came on strong and showed they’re one of the top backcourts in the DMV, and coaches took notice as he picked up a slew of high major offers. Dixon has a great frame that is strong already and should continue to fill out nicely, he’s a dead eye sharpshooter from deep with a quick release, he moves well off the ball to get open and he can play with the ball in his hands where he is a very good playmaker and shot creator too.
Eric Reibe Eric Reibe 7'0" | C Bullis | 2025 State #82 Nation MD | 7’0” C | Bullis
Prep Hoops MD Ranking: #6
Spring/Summer Offers: VT, College of Charleston, George Washington, Purdue, Georgetown, Maryland, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Providence, Wake Forest, ECU, Miami, Butler, Creighton
Reibe came to the states after the season for Bullis and quickly joined an already stacked New World team, and it took absolutely no time for college coaches to notice and begin to offer him even before the live periods started. The 7’0” German native adjusted to the game over here effortlessly and he has great instincts to move and get open when guards are driving through the lane, he has great hands and feet in the post, he has soft touch with both hands, he can step out to 18 feet where he can make shots and is a good passer and he just seems to have a great knack and IQ for the game making him efficient and productive in a multitude of ways.
