Continue ReadingUp from No. 12: JR Leonard has blown up this offseason, racking up offers from Georgia, Kennesaw State and USF. Leonard has emerged as one of the state’s best scorers. JR has a strong frame on the perimeter which he uses to punish opponents downhill, but it is his jumper that is his best weapon. Jalen coolly rises and fires off the dribble from the mid-range and three-point line and hardly looks to be bothered by the defense.
Up from No. 43: East Carolina and Kennesaw State offered Joyner in June. Maki is on the precipice of breaking out with a river of offers. At 6-foot-4, he’s a smooth playmaker with an effortless handle. He thrives at getting to the basket but doesn’t have blinders on, able to dish off no-look passes to open teammates.
Up from No. 38: I’ve seen Foster play multiple times this offseason and all he has done is produce. Foster’s consistency has become a hallmark of his game. Zac is long and wiry. He’s active on both ends of the floor. Foster uses his wingspan to deter opposing guards and has quick instincts to poke away steals and earn deflections in passing lanes. Zac glides to the basket for layups but is a good outside shooter with three-point range. Foster does a little bit of everything with his floor game.
Highlights
Up from No. 39: Jones scores in bunches. His unique form catches your eye right away, but you stay for the production. Caleb fills it up with his jumper. He pulls up on a dime from the mid-range and is creative enough to garner space for his three-point shot. Jones is a high-level bucket getter that is starting to appear on college radars.
Highlights
Up from No. 71: Mosby-Weems is built for the college game with a strong frame and mature game. Austin gets to his spots in the mid-range but also has the muscle to get downhill and finish through contact. Mosby-Weems is an effective rebounder and a solid defender that can help guard multiple positions.
Up from No. 67: Caleb is a bright young playmaker. He plays with speed and a high IQ. Thomas turns corners for layups and will pepper the defense with his outside shot. Caleb limits turnovers and understands how to get others involved. Don’t overlook his on-ball defense. Caleb can frustrate opponents with his effort.
Highlights
Up from No. 69: Although he is slender, Teasley doesn’t let that stop him from sticking his nose in every play. He’s a pitbull of a guard, that scores from all levels and stuffs the stat sheet with his energy. Teasley is a smooth scorer with his floater and mid-range jumper. He attacks the glass and uses his wiry frame to effectively defend.
