About Caleb
Expert Analysis
Andrew Baxley | Prep Hoops Scout
Caleb is our lone Junior Standout from Pebblebrook, our only non-South Carolina team in attendance at the Prep Hoops SC Showcase. Despite being from the Peach State, I was familiar with Thomas due to his time with The Skill Factory on the Nike EYBL Circuit before he made the switch to Team Thad. He is an offensive threat as a high-level shooter and playmaker. Caleb is extremely quick but is constantly under control with the ball in his hands. He finished with 8 points and 5 assists in the Falcons loss to Gray Collegiate Academy.

stirred up some chatter early in the spring and as he heads into his junior year at Pebblebrook, he”ll likely be a focal point for them. He’s undersized, yes, but his elite quickness gives him an advantage of his own. He’s able to penetrate gaps or blow by defenders which then opens up everything else. Thomas loves the pull-up jumper and shoots it well. I think he’ll eventually need to incorporate the three-ball more but you can’t argue with his efficiency right now either.

Up from No. 67: Caleb is a bright young playmaker. He plays with speed and a high IQ. Thomas turns corners for layups and will pepper the defense with his outside shot. Caleb limits turnovers and understands how to get others involved. Don’t overlook his on-ball defense. Caleb can frustrate opponents with his effort.

put on the TSF jersey this spring and has been tearing it up so far, providing the electric point guard play that he’s known for. Thomas is on the shorter end at 5’9 but his quickness gives him an advantage of his own, able to blow past defenders in the open floor and navigate in traffic with his handle. I think the next step for Thomas is incorporating his outside shot more and if he can do that effectively, I think he’s a D1 guard prospect despite the odds at his size.

Quick guard that picks up full court. Pesky defender. Three-level scorer with a knack for getting teammates open shots.

There are few guards in Georgia, regardless of class, that possess the speed and quickness of

. Opposing guards had trouble staying in front of Thomas all day Saturday and he was able to create consistently off the dribble. He’s got a solid handle on the ball and is a good passer as well. As Thomas grows more dangerous as a 3-point shooter, he’ll become one of the more talked about guards in the 2023 class. He should see good minutes this year in Pebblebrook’s backcourt and be able to further make a name for himself.

Thomas is speedy quick. He’s a pest on defense, picking up 94-feet as he turns ball handlers. Caleb provides a spark on offense, skilled at getting into the lane and finishing with his floater but also savvy with his passing.
