Late Surge Boosts Eastside to Victory Against Daniel
Two Top 10 Teams in their respective classes met in Saturday’s Third Game. Daniel had a hot shooting start to the game with their first 4 made field goals coming from 3-point land. They also did a good job of mucking the game up and making life difficult for the Eagles on the offensive end. Simms Disbrow Simms Disbrow 5'10" | PG Daniel | 2025 State SC , who had a very productive game, hit a transition mid-range jump shot to increase the Lions’ lead to 5 at halftime. But the Eagles were much improved in the second half. They went on a quick 7-0 run out of the locker room to grab their first lead of the game with just over 2 minutes played in the third. Justin Ray Justin Ray 6'3" | SG Eastside | 2024 State #317 Nation SC began to take over for a stretch in the quarter as well, scoring 10 points in the first 4 minutes of the second half. He adjusted well to the defensive looks that Daniel threw at him and was much more effective and efficient in the second half, where he scored 24 of his 30 points. Disbrow’s hot shooting continued in the fourth quarter and he hit some big shots to answer Ray. The key possession for Eastside came on the defensive end in the final minute, as they worked extremely hard to keep the Lions from getting a good look and secured the rebound to seal the game.
