We had the opportunity to drop by and catch some games at Clackamas Community College on Saturday morning, both from the 17U and 15U divisions. Here’s a look at some of the top 15U performers that we saw:
Brody Rygh Brody Rygh 6'5" | SF Sherwood | 2026 State OR , Oregon Prospects (2026 Sherwood) – Rygh reached down and dipped into his full bag of skills at the Summer Sizzle. In the two games we watched, the 6-foot-4 wing attacked the hoop and finished above the rim with some forceful dunks but also stepped out and showcased his smooth jumper from three. Rygh is long and athletic and only needs to continue adding some weight to his frame to continue along his development. Very high ceiling for the rising sophomore, maybe as much as anyone in his class in Oregon.
Matthew Tompkins Matthew Tompkins 6'4" | SF Summit | 2026 State OR , BOSS Basketball (2026 Summit) – Thompkins may have been our personal find of the day. Going into the first game of BOSS that we watched we weren’t immediately familiar with anyone on the roster but the rising sophomore immediately made an impression with his ability to get buckets. While he preferred to drive and mainly to his left, he finished plays with both hands and also knocked down some open shots. Defensively at 6-foot-4, he held his ground against bigger opponents.
Andwele Bridges Andwele Bridges 6'0" | PG Forest Grove | 2026 State OR , Oregon Prospects (2026 Forest Grove) – We really liked the way that Bridges looked to get to the cup in the action we saw on Saturday. He drove both right and left and finished through contact with both hands. The rising sophomore has obviously added some muscle to his frame and is primed to have a big year for Forest Grove.
Jackson King Jackson King 6'8" | C Forest Grove | 2026 State OR , Oregon Prospects (2026 Forest Grove) – As a developing big man, King is certainly still very much a work in progress but we liked what we saw out of the rising sophomore at Clackamas CC. He set up shop down low and created enough space to receive the inbounds pass, used his soft mitts to effectively catch and then some basic post moves to get off a soft shot. With his father a 7-footer, you can expect he’ll add to his already 6-foot-7ish height.
Isaac Bongen Isaac Bongen 6'2" | SG Jesuit | 2027 State OR , Portland Bulldogs (2027 Jesuit) – As we expected from our #1 ranked player in the Class of 2027, Bongen was impressive at Hoopsource. With his ability to explode to the hoop and finish with power above the rim, the incoming freshman has the kind of athletic gifts not often seen in the state of Oregon – especially at his age. Bongen didn’t just drive and dunk either as he has a pretty nice touch from the perimeter and he knocked down some open threes, both within the half-court set and pulling up in transition.
Elijah Thompson Elijah Thompson 5'11" | PG Southridge | 2027 State OR , Portland Bulldogs (2027 Southridge) – On paper the Class of 2027 appears to be deep and while we had seen Thompson’s name and brief glimpses of him in summer ball with Southridge – for which he’ll be an incoming freshman – Saturday morning was the first time we’d seen the 5-foot-11 combo guard in extensive action. He certainly impressed as he showed the natural ability to score, getting to the hoop for buckets but also hitting threes in bunches. Defensively, he was super aggressive creating turnovers.
