2026 PrepHoops Oregon Expo - Team 12 Scouting Report

The PrepHoops Oregon Expo took place last Saturday and this week, we will take a look at our scouting notes for each individual roster, breaking down this huge crop of talent from around the Pacific Northwest, player-by-player. Here's a look at Team 12.   Reports provided by Lorenzo Leaks    A quick, speedy senior PG general with good court vision, awareness, and feel for the game. He can create shots for his teammates and himself with a nice finish/touch off the glass. Can also knock down the 3-pt. However, shooting at a higher percentage will only open the floor for him more. Although he is a smaller player, he plays with great heart, tenacity, and I.Q.; he was committed to competition in all the games and understands how to use size and quickness on every possession to his advantage. Defensively has good lateral footwork; he scored a few baskets and distributed assists in all the games. He has a really nice mid-range pull-up off the dribble. Improve shot selection.     A really good, talented team player who adds value to any lineup while on the floor. Good height and an athlete who brings immediate energy and enthusiasm to the game of basketball on both ends of the floor. Hustles, rebounds, has a nice floater, good fundamentals, and nice lateral footwork on defense as well, with good balance. Can really run the lanes, did a really solid job making the transition from offense to defense, and vice versa. Talented enough to grab a defensive rebound, weave through a few defenders for the coast-to-coast score. Good player for any system.     A senior wing with good speed and athletic bounce. Can really get down the floor when he turns on the turbo within 3-4 seconds consistently. Showed good post defense on several plays along with the perimeter using his quick feet, hands, and position to stay in front. Okay shooter, nice slasher capable of scoring buckets in this manner, fundamentally sound, and sets screens. Had some good steals and assists. Athletic enough to dunk. Has court vision and ball-handling skills from the wing position to facilitate and score and/or get an assist.     Senior wing who can handle the basketball in full-court and/or half-court sets. A lefty with a 3-pt. Shooting range, catch-and-shoot, picks up full court, Hustles, can create and/or score as a facilitator. Get stronger, good effort competing. He never quit.     A solid physical senior guard who is committed to defense 100% of the time, picks up full court, great trapping guard, great energy competing around screens defensively, good lateral footwork, rebounds, and is a team player. Had steals throughout the entire event. Runs the lanes well, and has three-point jump-shooting range.     An extremely talented and gifted wing/guard with good height and size, an aggressive slasher who can finish at the rim and/or dunk as a lefty. He's capable of drawing fouls each time he attacks the basket or from offensive rebounding. Defensively, he's committed to picking up full court and does a good job of turning the offensive player and contesting shots on jump shooters. Good fundamentals, and is capable of bringing the basketball up the floor to create, run offensive sets for teammates, or straight up score on you. Runs lanes. This left-handed shooter has 3-pt. Range, and can knock down the shot. Good trapping wing. Plays the passing well. Look for the recruiting to begin, if it hasn't already.     A very talented complete player whom I've seen over the course of 2.5-years make the necessary progress to solidify himself as a legitimate Division 1 prospect. He's making the transition and expanding his role this season as the main PG decision-maker in the half-court sets. He has good passing skills and can create to get downhill in a hurry, with finishes in the paint and above the rim with dunks using his speed, length, and athleticism. Defensively, colleges will appreciate how hard he competes on that end of the floor; he can really deny the basketball in passing lanes. He's one year or less away from being a 6'6” PG that can get you triple-doubles in 10+ games. Off the ball, he can knock down the 3-pointer with NBA range. I mentioned one year ago that he would have the opportunity in his high school career to compete for a Top100 prospect (senior year) slot.     Might be the surprise hidden “gem” of the year in the Pacific Northwest. An extremely versatile player who is still carving out his niche. Has all the tools to one day be a player who can impact a game on both ends of the floor. He's a guy you want on your team; a perfect teammate who doesn't hurt his team, only adds value. Has the talent to be in every statistical category (Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocks, 3-pointers, and free throws) in a basketball game. Once he learns how to play at an ELITE level every night and get more stronger/vocal and aggressive with shot-blocking attempts, then he will be a problem for all opposition. He can really run the floor; a great trapping defender, and special when he gathers a defensive rebound and starts the transition game as a point forward. Interest should begin coming in.     A guard who will create posters and highlight reels this season with his SUPERIOR ATHLETICISM & strength. A player who is capable of producing a “Double-Double” (Points & Rebounds) in 10+ games, with OUTSTANDING shot-blocking talents from the guard spot. Moves without the basketball to locate scoring opportunities, has passing vision, can create, really quick reaction to plays on the court. Can nearly go the full court using 3-4 dribbles to get to the rim. Will spark college interest from many schools this season. Full-court pressing ability, uptempo player. Shooting a high percentage from 3-point land (* min. 2-3 made per game) over the next 12 months will put him into “All-American” conversations going into his senior year. Draws fouls on athletic offensive rebounds.     This will be his first season of varsity play; look for him to make contributions as he continues to battle daily while improving. He has some talent! I've seen his development and progress; what's important for him this season, as he continues to grow, is to understand and value each possession of a game with more energy, poise, and under-control delivery. Concentrate on the details to improve in areas that will help your team win games; sometimes it can be fitness level, shot selection, etc. As he does this, he will continuously move up the ranks. He's capable of bringing up the basketball in traffic, hitting 3's occasionally, setting up his teammates, setting screens, and rebounding. Contest shots defensively.
