2026 PrepHoops Oregon Expo - Breakout Performers

This year's PrepHoops Oregon Expo took place at the Beaverton Hoop YMCA and many of the top in-state players and beyond from the Classes of 2027 and 2028 took the court to compete against one another in some very spirited competition. We had the opportunity to watch the action from start to finish, and as usual we are conferring with numerous observers to finalize our First, Second, and Third All-Event Teams. These particular players may not have made one of those particular squads but certainly made an impression - and after coming into the event as relative unknowns are now in the unique position of really making a splash at the varsity level in 2026-27.    The 6-foot combo guard impressed observers with his shiftiness with the basketball in his hands, keeping defenders off balance in creating his own shot, hitting fadeaway lefty mid-range Js or using his length to finish at the hoop. A JV player at Central Catholic last season, Songolo will be a junior at Roosevelt this upcoming season.     Observers were impressed with the offensive aggressiveness of Guyton, who was very successful getting buckets in a variety of ways. He knocked down jumpers and attacked the hoop with good results, scoring over bigger players. He heads to McDaniel as arguably already one of their top seniors after swinging JV/varsity last season at Centennial.     Not a lot of people outside the Metro League or even the Jesuit program were aware of Alleman, who largely played on JV last season. But the 6-foot-1 guard is strong and athletic and can make a variety of shots. He certainly drew attention with both his physical attributes and ability to play the game at the Expo and there's no question he's a varsity contributor for the Crusders this upcoming season.     As the saying goes you can't teach height and Withers has plenty of it at 6-foot-9. The senior is not only tall, but he's long, athletic, and runs the floor well. He was a factor on the boards and defensively, but also finished some plays in transition and even showed confidence shooting the outside shot. After playing JV last season at South Medford, he'll make an impact on both ends for Crater in 2026-27.     Largely an unknown, both due to the fact he's from a smaller school outside the Portland area in Regis and he played behind a senior-stacked squad last season, Acker caught some eyes at the Expo. He's a smart player who made the right plays and was sharp shooter from the outside. Also an outstanding interview, the junior should be one of the Rams' top players on what is practically a new team.
