A big-time athlete, Dalen was overpowering defenders with his off-ball movement and athleticism. Getting second chance points and dunks off cuts, it was tough to stop Dalen in the paint. After a productive season as a Junior, Dalen is a prime breakout candidate as a senior after watching his growth over the past few months. Southeast Ohio is an area of the state that doesn’t receive a ton of statewide coverage but the classes of 2024 and 2025 are both filled with talent. Childers is a big who hit some mid-range jumpers, showed touch around the rim with bank shots and has great size to rebound and take up space in the paint. Playing alongside Caleb Lovely Caleb Lovely 6’2″ | SG South Point | 2024 State OH this season, South Point will be one of the top teams in southeast Ohio and compete for another district title in 2023-24.
Named MVP of the first session, Gilbert was dominating the paint with his ability to time up blocked shots and get every possible rebound. Some of the blocked shots looked way too easy for Gilbert as he was sending them either to a teammate or out of bounds completely. Developing his perimeter offensive game, he hit a couple 3-pointers and continues to develop each time I watch him play. Scholarship programs will likely make Gilbert a priority as he continues his senior season.
Wells dominated the second session with dunks, offensive rebounds and a couple 3-pointers. Just way too athletic for the competition to contain him, Wells showed off his athleticism in a variety of ways. No only did he have a few dunks and make plays in transition, Wells also slid his feet on guards and blocked a few jumpers as well. A talented athlete who shines for Pick Central on both the gridiron and the hardwood, it’ll be interesting to see which schools prioritize him for which sport. Talented enough to play either at the college level.
