I was so impressed with how Childers played on Tuesday night as he flat out competed offensively and had to take on the lead scoring role after

was forced to leave the game in the first half with an ankle injury. Childers was getting the ball thrown to him in the post and using a variety of post moves to finish at the rim. With soft touch and the ability to either go up over his left shoulder or spin back and finish facing the basket, the undersized Ashland Blazer squad had no answer for him on the block. Even stretching out and knocking down a few jumpers as well on the short roll or pick and pop, Childers is one of the most skilled bigs in Kentucky’s 2025 class.

A transfer over the summer, Jackson has had a good Senior season for Boyd and should be a good college player. Jackson is also a really good shooter, making 40% of his threes this season. A player worth taking a look at in the late signing period.

A transfer into Boyd County from West Virginia, Childers could be the difference maker for Boyd at 6’8. Providing an inside presence but also capable of stepping out and knocking down threes, Jackson should be a big player in the 16th. He’s starts in Kentucky’s rankings at 39th.

Boyd County gets a badly needed infusion of size with the arrival of Childers from West Virginia. Primarily a perimeter oriented team, Boyd now has a player who can get a bucket in the low post and should really help with rebounding. They lost several players in the transfer portal this summer but the Lions should benefit greatly from the addition of Childers.

comes to us from Ohio but playing in WV’s prep program Expressions Prep, Childers is one of ours to rank. Childers has great size and athleticism and gets it done on both ends as well as rebounds at a high rate. Childers has lots of college attention and we hope to report on that soon.

A big fella in the paint, Childers forms a nice guard-big combo at South Point with Caleb Lovely Caleb Lovely 6'2" | SG South Point | 2024 State OH that has a Pointers projected as one of the top teams in the southeast district this season. With the size and strength to score with his back to the basket, Childers is a load to stop at the high school level. A standout at the 270 Hoops camp as well, Childers showed off the ability to space the floor as well. South Point is a small town team to keep an eye on this winter, their studs could carry them to an OVC championship.

Southeast Ohio is an area of the state that doesn’t receive a ton of statewide coverage but the classes of 2024 and 2025 are both filled with talent. Childers is a big who hit some mid-range jumpers, showed touch around the rim with bank shots and has great size to rebound and take up space in the paint. Playing alongside Caleb Lovely Caleb Lovely 6'2" | SG South Point | 2024 State OH this season, South Point will be one of the top teams in southeast Ohio and compete for another district title in 2023-24.
