Dalen is capable of playing center as well as power forward at the college level. Dalen’s size and vertical explosiveness allowed him to lead the ECC in both rebounds and blocked shots. His activity levels on both ends of the court are very high. Dalen will have a bit of a learning curve at the college level but his physical traits will allow him to provide value as he continues to gain valuable practice and in-game reps. A very intriguing prospect who is going to be better later in his college career!

Springer and Dalen are honestly very similar prospects, both big lefty forwards who move their feet well and have similar body types. Dalen is a bit more raw offensively in terms of decision making and feel for the game, but his physical upside is quite intriguing. A prospect who gets better every time I watch him play, Dalen consistently is adding to his game and making improvements in a variety of areas. Once he gets into a college program, Dalen could make a huge jump with continued reps in practice and more specialized weight room training. Lots of upside for scholarship programs to check out, I expect Dalen to be a hot prospect for regional Division II and NAIA programs this winter.

A big-time athlete, Dalen was overpowering defenders with his off-ball movement and athleticism. Getting second chance points and dunks off cuts, it was tough to stop Dalen in the paint. After a productive season as a Junior, Dalen is a prime breakout candidate as a senior after watching his growth over the past few months. Catching eyes with his size, movement skills and production, Dalen should be on scholarship programs radars across the region.

A fantastic and fluid athlete at 6-8, Dalen was impressive all day long for The Prophets. With the ability to score inside out, Dalen comes with a lights-out lefty jumper and underrated playmaking abilities that makes everybody around him better. Defensively, he uses that athleticism to his advantage while playing all the way up in his teams full-court press. But arguably the most impressive aspect of the juniors game is his ability to rebound the basketball. It seemed like almost every miss was finding Dalen’s hands, which can be credited to his non-stop boxing out mentality.

A bit more of a project, Dalen has some interesting physical tools at 6’8 with the fluidity that he moves with on the defensive end. Putting together a productive season, Dalen is scoring 11.3 points per game and grabbing 9.6 rebounds a night for Milford. I was impressed with some of the flash moments he showed offensively, even knocking down two 3-pointers. Dalen could be a prospect that you look back at a few years from now and see just how far he came from where he’s at right now, high ceiling.

One of the more intriguing new names that I’ve seen this high school season, Dalen has some intriguing physical tools to work with at 6’8. With long arms and a skinny frame, Dalen has some impressive athleticism and ball skills. Still learning how to play, Dalen needs to get lots of reps in varsity and grassroots action plus get stronger for the college level but there’s a lot to work with considering what I saw on Tuesday. Dalen knocked down a couple jumpers, was aggressive around the basket and played hard on both ends. This is a prospect I think that scholarship programs will be looking at starting this spring.
