Th 6’7 lefty came out firing this weekend at KSU and carried the scoring load at times for Pebblebrook. He’s a great shooter from behind the arc and has the size and length to score points around the basket too. With as much upside as nearly anyone in the class, Smith’s best basketball is still ahead.
Lawrence Sanford Lawrence Sanford 6’2″ | CG Cherokee | 2025 #201 Nation AZ is coming off of a huge spring campaign and continues to rise in stock, one of the hottest prospects in the state right now. Cherokee’s 2023 class is now out the door and the show is Sanford’s to run. He exploded for 34 on Saturday in an impressive win over Pebblebrook. He’s got a bag of moves that make him nearly impossible to stay in front of, a deadly spin move off penetration. With offers from Georgia State and Kennesaw State under his belt, Sanford is likely to add to that list in June.
Highlights
Bleshoy had scouts and coaches buzzing this weekend, the well-rounded skillset on full display. He returns as the leader of this Pope squad that opened a lot of eyes at KSU and should compete for a region championship. Bleshoy’s ability as both a scorer and a playmaker make him the perfect centerpiece. He’s 6’4, can shoot it at different levels, and runs the fast break beautifully. Bleshoy is still awaiting his first offer but I imagine it’s not far off.
Hakeem Weems Hakeem Weems 6’8″ | PF Osborne | 2025 State GA made the move to Osborne along with some other key pieces, giving the Cardinals a completely new look around Akai Fleming Akai Fleming 6’4″ | SG Osborne | 2025 State #44 Nation GA . With Fleming out, Weems stepped up and played a key role throughout the weekend. At 6’8, Weems possesses a legit perimeter skillset, able to take defenders off the dribble or knock down the open three-pointer. Now at Osborne, he should garner a lot more attention playing alongside other top prospects in the state.
Xavier Lewis
Xavier Lewis
Xavier Lewis jumped onto my radar this weekend at KSU, some very impressive shot making ability on display. When Miller Grove needed a bucket, it was Lewis that hit the shot. He’s a quick and crafty ball-handler with real shot creation ability. On several occasions, Lewis knocked down contested jumpers off of different dribble combos and step-backs. Lewis likely steps into the forefront at Miller Grove and could be in for a breakout season.
