Zach Bleshoy made it known this weekend that he’s one of the top guard prospects on the entire circuit. He averaged 23 PPG and 10 RPG throughout the weekend but his most noteworthy performance came on Saturday morning when he put up 32 against Rare 1s. Bleshoy checks all the boxes. He’s got great size for the position, can fill up the scoresheet from multiple levels, and sees the floor extremely well. Bleshoy picked up an offer from North Florida on Tuesday who were in to see him over the weekend.

He is a tremendous athlete and put it on display from the start, jumping a passing land and finishing with a one-handed slam on the first possession of the game. Although he does have great bounce and speed, he is very calm with the ball in his hands. The game slows down for him when he’s attacking the basket, which almost throws off opposing defenders. Against the Charleston Raptors , Fleshy put up 21 points including three threes and an important overtime bucket.

Bleshoy continues to get bigger, faster, and stronger to the point now where he can physically dominate the game from the point guard spot. High-flying dunks have become routine for Bleshoy. Not only does he have the physical tools, he’s got the IQ and craftiness to create in the half-court. Bleshoy currently holds offers from Kennesaw State, Ohio, and Chattanooga.

Smooth athlete makes things look easy. Slithers his way through the defense with long strides. Excels at splitting traps and finding the open man. Has advanced court vision and great zip on his passes to cut through the defense across the court. Lefty hit a pair of threes and did damage at the rim with his leaping ability. Posted 20 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals in 56-46 win over North Forsyth.

Now a junior, all of Bleshoy’s goals are in front of him with a region POTY and region title very much in play. Bleshoy’s as creative as they come with the ball in hand and at 6’4, he can play above the rim and bully smaller guards. He’s a natural, three-level scorer that can get the mid-range off with little separation or step out and hit from range. I expect Bleshoy’s statlines to pop this year as he carries this Pope team to the next level.

Bleshoy has been steadily rising in stock for a while now and colleges are beginning to take notice. Bleshoy is an artist with the rock, so creative and skilled. He possesses great size and athleticism for the position as well. Comes up with a lot of steals on the defensive end and has a lot of upside as a next level defender. Kennesaw State was the first to offer a few weeks ago.

Bleshoy had scouts and coaches buzzing this weekend, the well-rounded skillset on full display. He returns as the leader of this Pope squad that opened a lot of eyes at KSU and should compete for a region championship. Bleshoy’s ability as both a scorer and a playmaker make him the perfect centerpiece. He’s 6’4, can shoot it at different levels, and runs the fast break beautifully. Bleshoy is still awaiting his first offer but I imagine it’s not far off.

There’s so many ways in which Bleshoy can punish defenses, both as the scorer and the facilitator. Bleshoy offers good size and athleticism at the point guard position, 6’4 and able to play above the rim. With a full year of experience running the show, I expect Bleshoy to take another step this year at Pope and prove that he’s one of the best guards in his class.

Athletic guard enjoyed a breakout season. Excels at getting to the rim. Lefty can create off the dribble as a playmaker and has deep range on his three-point shot.
