Today, we will be continuing my “Bluegrass State Standouts” series as we begin to breakdown some intriguing rising juniors, beginning with point guards. Without any further ado, here’s my list of the top 2025 point guards in the state of Kentucky to keep an eye on this upcoming season.
Highlights
At the top of my list of notable standouts is Maddox Huff Maddox Huff 6'3" | PG Harlan County | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-3 point guard at Harlan County High School. Huff made a huge difference on the floor for the Black Bears during his sophomore stint of high school hoops last year. In 31 contests, Huff was the second-best scorer and rebounder on the team, picking up a total of 524 points and 147 rebounds, averaging 16.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Huff additionally shot 42.6% (200-470) from field goal range, 37.1% (65-175) from beyond the arc and 67.8% (59-87) from the free throw line. With impressive size, speed and versatility on both sides of the floor, Huff will definitely be worth keeping an eye on next season.
In second place on my list is Ty Price Ty Price 5'8" | PG Butler County | 2025 State KY , a 5-foot-11 point guard at Butler County High School. Price was one of the more explosive players on the Bears’ roster during his sophomore season of high school basketball last year. In 32 games, Price was the top scoring machine on the team, recording a grand total of 1,000 points and 130 rebounds, averaging 31.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Price additionally shot 42.0% (334-796) from the field, 38.6% (141-365) from three-point range and 87.2% (191-219) from the free throw line. With excellent size, speed and physicality on both sides of the court, Price will certainly continue to make a name for himself this upcoming season.
Claiming the third place spot on my list of standouts is Saxton Howard Saxton Howard 5'11" | PG Lexington Christian Academy | 2025 State KY , a 5-foot-11 point guard at Lexington Christian Academy. Howard made a huge impact on the floor for the Eagles during his sophomore stint of high school hoops last year. In 33 contests, Howard was the third-best scorer on the team, picking up a total of 396 points and 56 rebounds, averaging 12.0 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. Jenkins additionally shot 44.0% (73-166) from field goal range, 37.6% (35-93) from beyond the arc and 53.6% (15-28) from the free throw line. With impressive size, speed and explosiveness on both sides of the floor, Jenkins made significant contributions to the boards last season and will be an intriguing point guard prospect to keep an eye on this upcoming season.
Coming in at number five on my list is Chance Dillingham Chance Dillingham 5'9" | PG St. Xavier | 2025 State KY , a 5-foot-9 point guard at St. Xavier High School. Dillingham made a huge difference on the court for the Tigers during his sophomore stint last year. In 32 contests, Dillingham was the top scorer on the team, picking up a total of 377 points and 56 rebounds, averaging 11.8 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.
