The updated PrephoopsNV Rankings will be released Mon July 17th. These rankings will feature updates for the class of 2026, 2025, and 2024. There has been a ton of movement throughout the rankings, and you can bet there will be more to come. With all the changes, reclassing, and transferring these may be the most exciting rankings to date as every spot is up for grabs. As we approach July 17th, here are 5 things to look for when the new rankings are released.

New Number 1's - With [player_tooltip player_id='986955' first='DJ' last='Thomas'] reclassing and [player_tooltip player_id='1253127' first='Chris' last='Nwuli'] transferring, the #1 player spot in both the class of 2024 and 2025 will be up for grabs. With #2 ranked [player_tooltip player_id='1110114' first='John' last='Mobley Jr'] and #4 ranked [player_tooltip player_id='986954' first='Taj' last='DeGourville'] likely making moves, Trinity bigs [player_tooltip player_id='1022287' first='Khaman' last='Maker'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1943935' first='Pape' last='Ndiaye'] and high-flying Vegas Elite guard [player_tooltip player_id='986957' first='Josiah' last='Cunningham'] are viable candidates for the number 1 spots.

Injury Updates - A few players returning from injury will have the opportunity to increase their rankings in the next couple of weeks. Spring Valley guards [player_tooltip player_id='986798' first='Alijah' last='Adem'] and [player_tooltip player_id='986968' first='Jamison' last='McCall'] are both rounding into form after coming back from knee injuries during the season. Reno forward [player_tooltip player_id='1351866' first='Dominic' last='Williams'] should be back and ready for his senior year, and Basic sniper [player_tooltip player_id='1330084' first='Christian' last='Baltierrez'] should all have opportunities to increase their rankings over the next few updates.

Who's New - Expect each class to get a boost in total numbers of players ranked, as the extra month, grassroots season, and Summer Leagues have provided even more time to evaluate players. In addition to the aforementioned Ndiaye, expect to see several new players have an impact on the rankings. Clark big man [player_tooltip player_id='1918319' first='Werrason' last='Bakindo'], Palo PG [player_tooltip player_id='1962969' first='Ethan' last='Inocencio'], and Losee Power high flyer, [player_tooltip player_id='1938190' first='Zion' last='Gayle'] all could have a significant impact in their first rankings appearance.

Northern Notables - Without a doubt, the rankings are heavily slanted toward players in the South, however, several players from the North have made enough of an impression to factor in the rankings. In addition to Williams from Reno, 2025 PG [player_tooltip player_id='1243527' first='Conner' last='Sheets'], 2026 sharpshooter [player_tooltip player_id='1321364' first='Tommy' last='Williams'], and 2024 forward [player_tooltip player_id='1512083' first='Jace' last='Anderson'], all have top-25 potential. Players like [player_tooltip player_id='1816991' first='Jeremiah' last='Pitts'] from Douglas, [player_tooltip player_id='1741193' first='Josh' last='Peterson'] from Reed, and [player_tooltip player_id='1768793' first='Bryce' last='Stephens'] all have a chance to rise.

Small School Power - 2023-24 could be the year of the small school as several 2 and 3A schools have players throughout the rankings. [player_tooltip player_id='1529852' first='Josiah' last='Stroughter'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1529853' first='Tai' last='Coleman'] are both top 5 players in their class for Democracy Prep. Meadows guard [player_tooltip player_id='1817875' first='Grant' last='Moses'] has had a solid spring, and his forward counterpart [player_tooltip player_id='1253132' first='Cyrus' last='Hutchison'] is one of the top players in the class of 2025. Look for some or all of them to rise, as well as others to crack the list.
