+14 (#121 to #107)
Hutchison, a forward out of Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, jumped 14 spots to finish at #107 in the rankings. A powerful athlete, Hutchison does a nice job of using his strength to his advantage as a finisher around the rim. He’s capabale of scoring with his back to the basket, does a nice job of scoring over smaller guards, and is a quality offensive rebounder, with good instincts on the glass. Defensively, he can guard up and down a position, is willing to mix it up in traffic as rebounder, and even offers some rim protection from the help side. He will head to Hamilton in the fall to continue his playing career.

Hutchison, a physically imposing wing out of Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, had moments where he was the most impressive prospect in the gym, capitalizing on his combination of athleticism, skill, and strength. Offensively, he has an inside-out scoring package, makes good decisions off the bounce, and can score at all three levels. He’s at his best when being aggressive off the bounce, using his combination of athleticism and strength to finish with authority around the rim. Defensively, he’s a high level, aggressive rebounder with real grab and go ability.

Hutchison was one of the better athletes I saw at the showcase. He’s 6-foot-6 and super strong-bodied, but he also has some athletic pop at the rim. He can burrow his way into the paint by using his strength and body but can also hit some shots from the outside and has nice touch in the mid range. Most impressive is his versatility — he can guard wings and bigs because of his strength and can even slide his feet a bit on the outside. Definite D3 guy right now with scholarship potential depending on how his season at Brewster goes. If he can improve his feel, scholarship offers could roll in.

Hutchison, a member of the 17U P32 squad, is a versatile wing out of Brewster Academy in New Hampshire. A physically imposing wing, he does a nice job of scoring at two levels (behind the arc and at the rim) and is continuing to improve in the mid-range. He uses his size to get his shot off over defenders and plays with nice athletic pop as a finisher at the rim. He’s a tough isolation finisher, gets it done through contact in the paint, and has really improved his consistency in catch and shoot situations. Defensively, he impresses with his ability to guard bigger forwards in the paint and can really get after it on the defensive glass.

Hutchison is another strong-bodied wing with great size (6-foot-6). He can get a bit shot-happy at times, but he’s able to score at all three levels and is a really solid athlete at the rim. He also made a couple nice passes against KUA that surprised me; he has solid vision and a willingness to pass. Once he can put his whole game together, I think he could be a super intriguing scholarship-level prospect. And, good news for Hutchison, he’s only a junior and has another couple years to figure it out.

is a bouncy and athletic forward with a versatile skillset and appeal. He can throw it down in the half-court, accelerating fast with a fearless attitude. Hutchison is a willing rebounder who will get dirty on the boards on both ends and is a constant double-double threat. He can stretch the floor from deep with a slow-release jumper with great touch. Defensively, Hutchison can anticipate passes for steals and has great knowledge of where to be on the floor to be the most impactful he can be. He also has great footwork guarding forwards and uses his length well for blocks and deflections. Hutchison’s selling point of helping a team in multiple areas while having his best basketball ahead of him should without a doubt make him a priority for programs going forward.

He’s had a remarkable season, now Hutchinson looks to carry the Mustangs. The versatile forward can do it all, but his ability to impact games with his glass cleaning and defense will go a long way towards the Mustangs success.
