There was a 64 team tournament and two 32 team tournaments that took place over the course of the weekend. Here’s a look at some 2026 players who boosted their stock this weekend.
In multiple previous viewings of Turner, I was waiting to see the light come on and for him to start playing harder. Against Butler on Friday night, James helped will the Wildcats to a win in overtime after nearly losing. James was finishing through contact and protecting the rim at a high level. If he can do that long term, his ceiling just keeps going up.
Martin is a physical freak who passes the eye test in a major way. He needs to show he can shoot the ball but he checks every box athletically and has an interesting prospect ceiling as he looks like he could be a mid major or better D1 wing. Unfortunately he faced a 2-3 zone the whole game I watched. I’d like to see more.
Jakobi was a top performer at our freshman showcase last fall but transferred from DeSales and enrolled at North Oldham and sat out the rest of the season. McRoberts has started to come into his own as a playmaker and scorer and looks like he’s ready for a starting role as a Sophomore.
Highlights
Grayson County is young and inexperienced and took their licks at Collins but Logsdon showed why he’s considered among the best rising Freshmen in the state. A three level scorer, Jack can play with the ball in his hands or attack the rim. Like most freshmen, he needs to bulk up some but he’s a talented scorer who could be a top 5-10 player in the 3rd region.
Simpson is considered by many to be the best rising Freshman in the Commonwealth. After being player of the year in Lexington middle school last season, he relocated to Montgomery County and has already earned a couple of D1 offers. This past weekend, he showed his skills in front of D1 coaches and has some projecting that he could be a high major D1 talent down the line.
