One of the elite shooters in Ohio, Winters just recently picked up a pair of Division I offers from Arizona State and Akron. Steadily improving, Winters had some huge games for a Richmond Heights squad that went unbeaten and won the state championship. Playing for All Ohio Red’s 16 U team, Winters has continued to shoot the ball at a high level. Filling out physically and improving defensively are the next steps in his game to help him go from a shooting specialist to a 3-and-D wing. Based on Winters steady improvement, his work ethic has shown me that he’s going to continue to improve over the next year and a half.
One of the biggest stock risers from EYBL Session I from Ohio, Leach was efficient from the field going 9/13 over the weekend from the field. Always been an impact defender, Leach is a tough on-ball defender and when he’s making shots, is a productive two-way player. I’m excited to see Leach have more of an offensive responsibility as a Junior with Toledo Central Catholic.
Another prospect who just keeps getting better, Brown played a nice complimentary role for Olentangy Orange next to their trio of Division II guard commits. Next season he could be the go-to option for the Pioneers as they will reload with returners and junior varsity standouts. Brown has good length and is a capable shooter from the outside, defensively he competed against physical older wings and didn’t back down. Excited to check out Brown with Nova Village 16 U squad this weekend at the Bill Hensley Run N Slam.
An impressive shooting wing prospect, Stokes went off in the one high school game I caught of his sophomore season. An impressive athlete, Stokes had a few highlight-reel slam dunks for Oak Harbor. With the Ohio Buckets, his catch and shoot ability is really heightened, playing next to other elite talent. With his size and shooting ability, Stokes is also able to punish smaller defenders around the rim and with his back to the basket. One of the top small school studs in northwest Ohio’s 2025 class, Stokes will continue to attract scholarship interest after Bethune-Cookman was the first program to offer the wing.
Cartwright impacts the game in a variety of ways for a sophomore as he had a clear role on regional champion Chaminade Julienne. An impressive defender and advanced physically for his age, I expect Cartwright to take a major scoring leap as a junior after 4 PPG last season. It’ll be exciting to watch Cartwright get to show off more of his offensive skill-set next season after excelling in a specialized role.
