I was impressed with Chaminade Julienne despite losing a couple of their top scorers to graduation a year ago. Cartwright is now the senior leader on the team and his leadership starts on the defensive end of the court. Getting after ball handlers sometimes even behind half-court, Cartwright wants to defend the other teams top scoring option. Combine that with some tough takes to the bucket including some left-handed finishes and I left impressed with Cartwright’s performance. 2026 prospects Caden Hatcher Caden Hatcher 5'8" | PG Dayton Chaminade Julienne | 2026 OH and Chase Jones Chase Jones 6'3" | SF Dayton Chaminade Julienne | 2026 OH are other players to watch from Dayton CJ, both impressed me on Saturday as well.

Dayton Chaminade Julienne was incredibly efficient, shooting almost 60% from the floor in a dominant victory. This was a nice bounce back victory after a slow start to the season, but based on what I saw on Saturday, they look like a team ready to turn the corner. Cartwright stuffed the stat sheet with tied for a team-high 15 points and six assists. Cartwright is an impressive athlete and had maybe the highlight of the day with a dunk to cap off the strong second half effort. An impressive shot maker, Cartwright can hit mid-range shots off the bounce and create for himself. For Cartwright to take the next step, lowering his turnovers will be a way to elevate his game to the next level. I expect scholarship programs to check out Cartwright early in the spring and summer when the class of 2025 becomes a priority.

Cartwright impacts the game in a variety of ways for a sophomore as he had a clear role on regional champion Chaminade Julienne. An impressive defender and advanced physically for his age, I expect Cartwright to take a major scoring leap as a junior after 4 PPG last season. It’ll be exciting to watch Cartwright get to show off more of his offensive skill-set next season after excelling in a specialized role.

Chaminade Julienne is the top team in Division II and while the Washington brothers are the stars of the team, it’s guys like Cartwright that also play key roles in their success. An athletic wing guard, Cartwright is a good defender with impressive athleticism and length. A capable shot-maker as well, Cartwright could see his points per game rocket up as an upperclassman.
