Noah really impressed me with how his body has developed over the past 10 months, which is the last time I saw him in person. I thought he improved athletically by slimming down and getting more explosive. A big time shooter from the wing forward position, Noah has a college ready body physically. Overall a productive day for Noah as he projects as one of the key guys on Midwest’s 17 U 3SSB squad.

A big day for Robinson as he fits the mold for a 3-and-D wing that a lot of college programs are having a tough time finding. Robinson shoots it at a high level off the catch and showed off a little more off the bounce game that he’s previously shown me. He’s always been a high level defender and once again made some plays with his long arms and smart hands. This spring and summer, Robinson will have the chance to prove he’s a scholarship level talent in front of college coaches.

A big-time athlete, Godfrey was making some highlight reel plays on both ends of the court with some powerful dunks and blocked shots. Impressed by his height, quick burst off the ground and timing as a shot blocker, Godfrey is an intriguing athlete at the defensive end of the court. As the day went on he got more confident as a shooter from the outside and knocked down a couple open 3’s. Godfrey has a ways to go before he’s ready to make an impact at the college level but his tools are obvious and he seems to be figuring out how to make plays at both ends. This will be a name for regional scholarship programs to monitor this spring and summer.
Gilbert has expanded his game to include a 3-point shot and let it fly with confidence on Sunday. Doing a bunch of pick and pop looks, Gilbert shot the ball much better from the outside than I’ve previously seen from him. While I liked seeing Gilbert stretch the floor, I still want to see him roll to the hoop, finish through contact and be physical in the paint. He did that at times on Sunday but was more focused on shooting jumpers. Gilbert is going to be a priority for scholarship programs and his team is filled with small college talent on the roster with guys like Peyton Heiss Peyton Heiss 6’3″ | CG Jonathan Alder | 2024 State OH and Aidan Gallogly Aidan Gallogly 6’3″ | SF Worthington Kilbourne | 2024 State OH shooting the ball at a high level from the outside on Sunday, I’d imagine tons of Division III coaches will be watching this team at prep hoops circuit events.
Parish is a small-town sleeper who really impressed me on Sunday with his overall performance. I knew Parish was a big-time athlete with some of the dunks he’s posted on twitter but I was also impressed with his toughness, strength and shot-making ability from the outside. Parish also a steal that led to a dunk in transition that showed off some of his athleticism. This is a player I expect Division III programs to take a strong interest in this spring and summer.

Lovely is one of the most talented scorers in southeast Ohio and that was on full display on Sunday as he made some impressive shots off the bounce creating for himself. Lovely is an impressive shooter off the bounce and with his good burst and dribbling moves, he’s one of the better isolation scorers in Ohio’s 2024 class. I expect scholarship programs to check Lovely out this spring and summer as the natural talent he displays is impressive.
One of the fiercest competitors in the state, Casenhiser brought the energy on Sunday and during the second game his team played, got hot at the end to lead his team to victory. I love the edge that Casenhiser plays with and he’s never afraid to show his emotions to try and fire his team up. I thought Midwest Basketball Club Cleveland had a variety of guys have good days with Jarrett Taylor Jarrett Taylor 6’5″ | PF Uniontown Green | 2024 State OH , Hayden Nigro Hayden Nigro 6’4″ | SG Louisville | 2024 State OH and Tommy Morgan Tommy Morgan 6’5″ | SF Brunswick | 2024 State OH all impressing on Sunday. This should be one of the top teams on the prep hoops circuit and college coaches at the scholarship level and Division III should make it a priority to catch this team in action at one of the numerous prep hoops circuit events they are going to compete at.
