Chance Casenhiser
About Chance
Expert Analysis

Recently became the all-time leading scorer at his high school, Casenhiser battled an early season injury to break the record. A prospect I got to see a ton on the Prep Hoops Circuit, Casenhiser plays with an excellent motor and can fill it up from the outside. Lots of college coaches have commented about players not wanting to win or compete, I can promise that won’t be an issue with Casenhiser. Worthy of getting scholarship interest, Casenhiser would be a steal at the Division III level and likely an instant impact player at that level.

Another prep hoops circuit standout, Casenhiser has been playing some really impressive basketball as of late. A guard who goes all out every time he’s on the court, the competitiveness he shows is impossible to miss. As a scorer, Casenhiser has the ability to get buckets in a hurry, scoring 23.5 PPG as a Junior. A prospect with the talent to end up with a scholarship offer, Casenhiser will need to impress the right college coaches this summer and as a senior with Lake. Keep your eyes on this talented prep hoops circuit guard!

Casenhiser averaged 21.2 points per game to lead Midwest Basketball Club 2024 Cleveland to a dominant 4-0 weekend. The 6’1″ athletic guard can flat out score the basketball from any spot on the floor. He has sneaky athleticism, a smooth jump shot off of the dribble, and solid all-around playmaking ability in the backcourt. Should continue to attract a lot of college interest this spring and summer.

One of the fiercest competitors in the state, Casenhiser brought the energy on Sunday and during the second game his team played, got hot at the end to lead his team to victory. I love the edge that Casenhiser plays with and he’s never afraid to show his emotions to try and fire his team up. I thought Midwest Basketball Club Cleveland had a variety of guys have good days with

all impressing on Sunday. This should be one of the top teams on the prep hoops circuit and college coaches at the scholarship level and Division III should make it a priority to catch this team in action at one of the numerous prep hoops circuit events they are going to compete at.

Casenhiser recently broke his school’s single game all-time scoring record with 45 points against Massillon Perry. Casenhiser was also a standout at the Prep Hoops 250 Expo in the Fall. With Casenhiser’s scoring ability and willingness to play defense is a good combo for a guard to be recruited.

Saturday served as my first look as the Uniontown Lake product. A swifty and crafty guard, Casenhiser did a great job reading defenses and truly taking what they provided. Whether it be blowby attacks or kick outs, he showed poise offensively and confidence.

With the event starting at 9 A.M. some players (myself too) might’ve been a little sleepy, not Casenhiser. In the first game of the day there was nobody playing harder on the court as Casenhiser was going all out on both ends. Defensively was where he really shined with high pressure defense due to his quick feet and high effort levels. On the offensive end, Casenhiser was getting busy with the ball in his hands, using his quickness to get to the lane to either finish at the rim or dish to a teammate. Casenhiser’s outside shot was working as well, he made a couple deep 3-pointers in the one full game I caught of him. Casenhiser is projected to be one of the top guards in the federal league next season and has a chance to play his way into a scholarship next spring/summer when Division II and NAIA programs really focus on the 2024 class.
