Continue ReadingThe CBG Tip-Off takes place this Saturday at Rock It Sports in Richmond, and it looks like one of the top pre-live period events with a loaded field of both shoe company and independent teams. The event starts at 9 AM with the last game set at 8 PM, and features some of the best prospects in VA, NC and the DMV areas.
Here’s a look at part one of the many 16U prospects to watch for at the event.

Frank Siaca Bey | 6’8” PF | New World
Siaca Bey is one of the most intriguing big men prospects in the 2025 class in the DMV, and this summer will be a big one after he’s shown a lot of improvement with Georgetown Prep. The 6’8” big man is strong in the paint and able to clear out space and finish in traffic, he’s mobile enough to get up and down and move his feet defensively and he has great hands and good touch in the paint to finish on tough passes from guards.
Aiden Argabright Aiden Argabright 6'0" | PG John Marshall | 2025 State #220 Nation VA | 6’0” PG | New World
Argabright is coming off of a breakout sophomore season at St. Stephen’s St. Agnes and he’s shown he’s one of the top guards in the DMV in his class. He’s a throwback floor general type of guard who handles pressure and touches the paint at will, he’s a natural playmaker who makes everyone on his team better and he’s a talented scorer off the bounce who picks his spots and scores it efficiently.
Elijah Flowers Elijah Flowers 6'8" | PF Potomac School | 2025 State VA | 6’7” WF | New World
Flowers is an emerging prospect in the DMV area who had a good season for Potomac School this year, and as he continues to improve he’ll start to see his recruitment pick up as he has a lot of intriguing tools moving forward. The 6’7” forward has the prototypical frame and is a big time athlete when he gets downhill, he rebounds well on both ends of the floor and is a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions and he can knock down shots from deep off the catch too.
Shane Lincoln Shane Lincoln 6'4" | PG Bishop O'Connell | 2025 State VA | 6’4” CG | New World
Lincoln is an intriguing guard prospect coming off a good year at Bishop O’Connell where he showcased his ability to make an impact without being a go-to guy as far as scoring the basketball. He’s a smooth athlete who can change speeds and directions well with the ball in his hands, he’s a high IQ playmaker who makes his teammates better, he can score the ball efficiently in multiple ways and he has long arms to challenge shots and get deflections defensively.
Cam Ward | 6’7” WF | Team Durant
Ward is widely considered the best prospect in the 2025 class in the DMV area, and he’s coming off of a big time sophomore season at Largo where he was named state Player of the Year. The 6’7” wing is a walking mismatch as he has great size to be able to post up or play through contact when he gets downhill, he has good ball skills as he can put it on the deck and knock down shots from the perimeter, he’s a good rebounder who plays with a good motor and he can guard and play almost every position on the floor.
Akbar Waheed | 6’5” CG | Team Durant
Waheed is coming off of a breakout season at Georgetown Prep and has shown that he’s one of the most talented guards in the DMV regardless of class. At 6’5” he has great positional size and is a big time athlete to go along with it, he is lightning quick off the bounce and he’s very shifty allowing him to create space for his shot and work out of isolation situations and he’s a talented shot maker who can fill it up from all three levels.
Sabree Scott Sabree Scott 6'6" | SG Mt. Zion Prep | 2025 MD | 6’6” WF | Team Durant
Scott is one of the more intriguing prospects in the event as far as long term upside goes, and coming off of a season where he played with postgrad players as just a sophomore with Mt. Zion. He checks all of the boxes as far as his size and athleticism for the position, he has good ball skills as he can handle it and make shots on the perimeter and he plays with a good motor hitting the glass and making plays defensively too.
Jayden Fort Jayden Fort 6'8" | PF Jackson-Reed | 2025 State #128 Nation MD | 6’7” PF | Team Durant
Fort is another player who made a name for himself as a sophomore with Jackson-Reed this season, and the 6’7” big man has a lot of things to like and still has a lot of room for development too. He’s a strong kid who can clear out space in the paint and finish in traffic, he runs the floor hard and is a good finisher above the rim in transition and he’s a hard worker who hits the glass and protects the rim too.
