Continue ReadingA name that we have been tracking for awhile popped onto many scout’s radars after an explosive shooting performance this weekend playing with New World. Hitting 6 threes in one game alone, Polk made his presence known as a C+S threat that can knock down open and contested looks without needing plays run for him and in the flow of the game. With good positional size and improving lateral footspeed, Polk projects well as a big shooter that can also mix it up on the glass and score in the paint

Touomou bounced back with an impactful first weekend for DC Premier , highlighted by a 19p 7r 3b 1s performance in a win over the Rens. Touomou was effective as a shot-blocker and rebounder in the first half but REALLY got on that rim in the 2H as a play-finisher in transition that also showcased his ability to knock down C+S threes in rhythm. His versatility as a wing that can guard 3-5 at the high school level that makes the most of his opportunities at the offensive end makes him a name to watch for college coaches this season.
A versatile W/F prospect that always passes the eye test with good positional length and size, Flowers showed his ability to step out and knock down perimeter jumpers in a big comeback win for TTO National over Virginia Elite in the first game set. His long arms allow him to guard 3-5 and his foot speed has improved enough to stay in front of guards on ball screen switches. With an improving floor game and developing ball skills, this prospect could definitely be a steal for college coaches looking for a versatile wing that can contribute on both ends of the floor

Guimaraes plays so incredibly patient and is extremely fundamentally-solid for a big his size. The footwork, hands, and finishing ability were on display throughout the weekend for an All Ball group that turned some heads in Baltimore. Guimaraes utilized his pivot, both hands, and showed off a nice scoring skillset around the basket while controlling the glass for his team. Nice to see the passing flashes as well to cutters and shooters as his coach put him in the high post for a few possessions and allowed him to create. The ability to knock down 18 footers and a soft touch in the paint projects well for the next level as a very skilled 5 that can help a team in a variety of ways
Another prospect that we’ve been tracking for awhile, Franklin showed his offensive versatility with an 11-point personal run at the beginning of the 2H to give VA Elite a big lead in a tight game with TTO National. Franklin floats to open pockets in the defense to create easy kick-out opportunities for teammates to either shoot or create from. A solid athlete that can mix it up on the glass, Franklin gets to a ton of rebounds and scores well off his pivot in the paint. With his ability to shoot and a standout offensive IQ, I expect his recruitment to heat up quite a bit this summer with a few A10 offers while hearing from some heavyweights like Virginia.
An incredibly explosive 2024 forward prospect, Espinosa showed why several high-level D2s have shown interest with several explosive finishes above the rim both in transition and in the halfcourt. The timing and speed of his cuts lead to several wide-open slices to create easy looks at the rim, while the defense had to respect the C+S ability out to 18 feet. Espinosa’s ability to contribute as a weak-side and on-ball shot-blocker definitely make him a name to track for D1 coaches looking to add a good prospect late in the cycle.
