Being able to have players on your team that can spread the floor and shoot from deep is a necessity and one that many coaches should always be invested in. This class provides those abilities at a high level, to say the least. Here are my top five sharpshooters for the 2025 class.
Loughlin is a steady and consistent shooter as they come in today’s game. He doesn’t force any shots and constantly makes smart basketball plays to not only get himself open looks but his teammates too. Loughlin is always getting the defense to jump for his deadly pump fakes behind the three-point line giving him many open looks from that area. He loves the catch-and-shoot shot and just has a pure shot release.
Ghee is great at moving without the basketball to get open for shots. He can get into his shooting form no matter how off-balanced he is from the defense. The corner shot is his favorite type of three-point shot and one that he will no doubt knockdown every time he is open. Closing defenders do very little to his shot. Ghee made 61 three-pointers this season which I expect to increase going into next season.
Holt is a lefty shooter with a fast release point. Pairing those two alone already has the makings of a sharpshooter. The corner shot is no doubt his favorite. He has deep range forcing defenses to press upon him the second he dribbles past half-court. If you leave Holt wide open he simply won’t hesitate to shoot and will rarely miss an opportunity like that. Contested defenders do none too little to alter his shot making him a tough guard for opposing teams.
Schorr has one of the quickest and smoothest releases you will ever see. There isn’t a three-point shot that he won’t take even with his unlimited range from behind the arc. Shooting just comes too easy and naturally to him just by watching him for a quarter of a game. It’s almost impossible for defenses to contest Schorr’s shot because of how fast he shoots it. Schorr made 71 three-pointers this year while even hitting 7 of them each in two different games making him a sniper from downtown.
Highlights
Brown is just an overall pure shooter from downtown just by watching him. He uses his long 6’3″ frame to shoot over smaller defenders giving him a great advantage over teams. His range is what separates him from other great shooters and can hit anything if you give him the space. Brown is excellent at the spot-up catch-and-shoot shot and will come off of many off-ball screens so he can get those open looks. I fully expect Brown to have another shooting lights-out season next year.
