Myers Park (18-4) @ Olympic (21-1)
By far the biggest game of the week is Myers Park traveling to take on Olympic in what should be a much better contest than last time. Myers park is versatile and deep, boasting Elijah Strong Elijah Strong 6'8" | PF Myers Park | 2023 State #230 Nation NC and Sadiq White as frontcourt guys. Strong is a physical bruiser, while White is athletic and wiry, giving the Mustangs very different looks. Sir Mohammed Sir Mohammed 6'6" | SG Myers Park | 2024 State #83 Nation NC is a long guard/wing who fits the mold of a college/NBA prospect and should continue to get high major looks, while Bishop Boswell Bishop Boswell 6'4" | PG Myers Park | 2024 State #68 Nation NC is a facilitator/scorer who is firmly a D1 player. For Olympic, their offense runs through 6’5 guard Kameron Taylor Kameron Taylor 6'7" | SF Carmel Christian | 2024 State NC , who is long, athletic and is looking to get downhill off the dribble any chance he can get. Jaydon Terrell Jaydon Terrell 6'1" | PG JL Chambers | 2025 State NC and Demarco Reynolds are both plus shooters from deep and will provide a three level threat for Olympic. Devin Ragin Devin Ragin 6'7" | PF Olympic | 2023 State NC will draw the inside matchup as he looks to play his good brand of defense and rebounding, and hopefully contribute a few buckets in the low post. I’m expecting a much better game than last time, but still think Myers Park is the team to beat.
Northern Nash (23-0) @ Rocky Mount (18-2)
A Rocky Mount showdown is set for Friday as Northern Nash takes on Rocky Mount in what should be a very competitive game. Jamal Townsend Jamal Townsend 6'0" | CG Northern Nash | 2023 State NC is a big time point guard for Northern Nash, who does everything at a high level; pass, score, rebound, and defend. Randall King Randall King 6'2" | CG Northern Nash | 2024 State NC is averaging 13.3 PPG and 2.5 SPG as a complementary two way guy, and Demondre Haymon Demondre Haymon 6'8" | PF Northern Nash | 2024 State NC leads the team on the glass with 7.3 RPG, and 2.7 ORPG. For Rocky Mount, it will be a team effort, with guys like Malik Hill and Tyler Barnes Tyler Barnes 6'3" | CG Greenfield | 2024 State NC leading the charge. Barnes will do a lot of everything as a lead guard, especially as a rebounder. He will help out Deandre Lynch Deandre Lynch 6'3" | C Rocky Mount | 2023 State NC down low in that regard, as well as get Lynch the ball for him to score inside. Stephon Jones Stephon Jones 5'11" | CG Rocky Mount | 2023 State NC is a knockdown shooter and provides an outside presence to a team that loves to score the ball around the rim. This should be an awesome game.
Greene Central (19-4) @ Farmville Central (20-1)
Tuesday night has an Eastern NC clash set up, with Greene Central traveling to take on Farmville. The visiting Rams are led by Kendrick Harper Kendrick Harper 6'4" | SF Greene Central | 2023 State NC , who’s averaging 15.8 PPG and 8.3 RPG, proving his value on both the offensive and defensive end. Nemaj Auston averages 11.6 PPG and is a sharpshooter, shooting almost 50% on the season so far. They take on a loaded as usual Jaguars squad led by New Orleans commit Jah Short Jah Short 6'4" | CG Farmville Central | 2023 State NC , who is a dynamo in the open court and in space, and hits difficult shots with ease. Jayden Pitt Jayden Pitt 5'11" | PG Farmville Central | 2023 State NC and sophomore MJ Williams MJ Williams 5'10" | SG Farmville Central | 2025 State NC have had breakout years as well, pacing the Jags as secondary and tertiary options. This should be a fun one, but I think Farmville gets it done at home, though not without a fight.
