If there was an East NC Player Of the Year Award, he would most certainly have to get the nod as he led his team to another state championship while being dominant on both ends of the floor. They did not lose a game this season against any team in the state of North Carolina, and his production was part of the reason why, he averaged 24 Points & 2 Steals per game for the season, often taking on the assignment of guarding the best offensive player from the opposing team.

is another state champion hailing from Farmville Central that’s seen his stock rise into the Top 10 in the final update for the 2023 rankings. He’s a University of New Orleans commit set to take the Southland Conference by storm given his ability to fly above the rim on both ends and make things happen on the hardwood. He went out on top with a 35-point performance in their victory in the state final over Reidsville High.

deserves every superlative you can give him for his high school career, but Saturday’s performance was one of his better ones. On the brightest stage, he was unstoppable, going for 35 points, 7 rebounds (4 OREB), 3 assists and 3 steals. He’s so dynamic getting downhill, because not only is he quick and explosive, but he’s also incredibly physical for a 6’3 guard.

was too small to guard him once he got downhill with a head of steam, and he was finishing well at the rim all night. He even knocked down some threes, something he’s continually improved on as a high schooler. He will be tremendous in the college ranks, but Saturday was just the cherry on top of a great high school career for Short.

Short has led Farmville Central back to the NCHSAA 2A State Final and silenced many of his critics in the process. The University of New Orleans commit has led the way with 23.7 ppg while showing off his athleticism and defensive ability for the Jaguars as they look to repeat as the state champions. He certainly is one to watch in this year’s state final.

One of the most consistent players in the state game in and game out, he put together another outstanding performance in their win over Goldsboro for the second time this season. He scored a game high of 24 Points but also made a nice number of plays of the defensive side of the ball as well which is part of what makes him such a valuable piece to the FCHS squad.

The high-flying UNO signee continues to impress on both ends of the floor but recently he has shown an improvement knocking down perimeter shots which only makes him an even more impressive player and difficult matchup. One of the players that brings the energy for this group, if they are able to force turnovers and get out into transition, things could get interesting very quickly.
