On Friday, February 24th I watched the 3A Final-4 at the Arizona Veteran's Memorial Coliseum in Phx, AZ.

It was #4 Yuma Catholic versus #1 Valley Christian.

I watched the first half to check out the two talented 3A teams. [player_tooltip player_id='1152187' first='Luke' last='Shaw'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1607055' first='Braden' last='Moore'] both impressed in the half.

Here were some of the Final-4 Standouts in the 1st half

[player_tooltip player_id='1152187' first='Luke' last='Shaw'] Valley Christian

A highly skilled combo guard is one of the top shooters in the AIA. He has a nice floater game and can make off balanced shots in the lane. His step back off the dribble is hard to defend and he has a nice pull-up from mid-range. He scored 16 points effortlessly.

[player_tooltip player_id='1379909' first='Carson' last='Grier'] Valley Christian

A bigger guard can float it in and score in the paint with his bigger size. He is a great passer seeing over the top of the defenders and always seems to make the correct read.

[player_tooltip player_id='1194266' first='Austin' last='Wallace'] Valley Christian

A strong wing forward gets on the glass for the undersized team and plays bigger than his height suggests with his long arms and toughness. He has been making his three point shots more and more this season and he is becoming more physical.

[player_tooltip player_id='1607055' first='Braden' last='Moore'] Yuma Catholic (Pictured)

A super shifty PG with a tight handle to heavy ball pressure. He can stop on a dime and rise up from mid-range. He gets to his spots almost at will and threads the needle about as well as you can to facilitate. He changes speeds quickly and then bursts by his defenders and slips a pocket pass into his post player. His burst is sudden with his tight handle and his step back off the dribble is hard to handle. He had 9 points with many assists and finished with 22 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1818723' first='Fernando' last='Vazquez lima'] Yuma Catholic

A big burly sophomore power forward has soft hands. He rebounds everything in and out of his area. He can drive the lane well and then jump stop and go up. Him and Moore bring a tough duo for next year.

Sebi Patane CG 6'1 2024 Yuma Catholic

A skilled combo guard with a good feel for the game. He can shoot the three point shot and when he gets hot he will rattle them off. He is a smart passer and compliments the soph duo perfectly.
