Braden Stephenson
Braden Stephenson
Carroll County ran into a tough Trimble County that knocked them out the first round of the district tournament. Stephenson has done a great job both playing on and off ball all season helping them run the show. Has deep 3pt range that can really shoot it from anywhere when he is given space. With his shooting ability, there is no reason he should average under 16 points next season. Developing this summer and continuing to get more aggressive to score, he could get a ton more attention than he is getting now.
Bracken County again got eliminated due to the blind draw that the 39th district continues to do in which they got paired with a first round match-up against one of the top teams in the 10th region, Mason County. Reed is a top 5 scorer in the state at the moment that will likely go down as the #2 all-time KHSAA scoring leader behind Travis Perry Travis Perry 6’2″ | PG Lyon County | 2024 State #115 Nation KY . Reed is a relentless scorer that can score at all three levels. Tough shot taker and maker. Elite competitor. This summer is crucial for him to get exposure and prove he can play alongside other good players. If he does that, there is no reason division-1 coaches shouldn’t be calling.
Highlights
Jaylin Craine
Jaylin Craine
Craine is one of the top freshman in the state that will likely get on the national radar this summer. He plays extremely confident for being so young and has the physical stature of a senior. Averaging just under 14 points a game and was Caverna’s second leading scorer, I could see him taking the next step of his development becoming more consistent shooter although he knocked down a 43 – 3’s this season. His athleticism and ability to get to the rim is what gets me excited for his potential. It will be a huge summer for him.
Tayden Logsdon
Tayden Logsdon
Logsdon is another young Caverna guard that has a ton of potential. He missed a good portion of the year which is why this summer is critical for his development to get back in rhythm. He has unbelievable skill and plays with an extremely high IQ. He can play any of the guard positions and never seems to get rattled. Good shooter from 3pt distance and overall is solid in every aspect of his game.
Quelron House
Quelron House
House is one of the top scorers in the state as he is a match-up nightmare due to his size and natural scoring ability. Seems to always play at his pace and get to his spots. Is really good getting to the paint and using his size to score of defenders. He is at his best driving the ball both in transition and in the half court but is capable from 3pt range when he’s in rhythm. House is a player that can make a ton of noise this summer and start stacking up the offers. As far as his development, the next step would be becoming more effective off the ball and more consistent 3pt shooting.
Owens was one of the biggest surprises in the 11th region this season as he led Bryan Station this season in scoring. Plays well beyond his years and really stepped up his game and put Bryan Station on his back when they needed him most. Does a great job breaking defenders down off the dribble and gets to the paint when he wants. What I like about him the most is his ultra competitiveness and toughness. With his lack of size, he needs to develop a consistent float game and shooting so the game come easier to him with more space. Should get some attention on the grassroots scene this summer.
Highlights
Finley solidified himself as one of the premier versatile scorers in the state this season. Averaged 21 points knocking down 60 – 3’s from distance. He has great feel offensively to create space and get his own shot. Is a sneaky athlete that hold his own guarding any guard in the state. He is garnering mid-major attention at the moment but will likely rack up the offers if he takes care of business in the summer like he did in the high school season.
Jayden Hacker
Jayden Hacker
Hacker is one of the best shooters in the state making an astonishing 71 – 3’s from distance and scored 15.7 ppg. Watching him, there is no way you would think he was in the 8th grade. Plays way beyond his years, doesn’t play outside of himself and sticks to what he does best and that is shooting the basketball. With him being so young, this summer for him is more about development and getting stronger than exposure. Getting more comfortable putting the ball on the floor and scoring around the rim is the next step for him. Sky is the limit.
