On Monday, our ranking updates continued with the 2025 class. You can check out the Top 65 sophomores in Oklahoma RIGHT HERE. Throughout the week, we’ll take more of a look at the 2025 class with breakdowns on various prospects throughout the rankings. In this post, we’re taking a look at five prospects that made significant jumps in the recent ranking update. From a prospect jumping into the top ten to much more, these five prospects have earned quite a bit of respect from their play on the court so far this season.
El Reno grabbed some headlines late last week when they knocked off #1 Carl Albert in a close game. They can grab more headlines on Monday night when they travel to take on 4A powerhouse Kingfisher. The Indians have a very talented lineup but sophomore guard
Carter Roman Nose

has the potential to be the best of the bunch down the line. The playmaking ability is off the charts already and after checking him out a few times in the last couple months, the sophomore really impressed with his passing. As we mentioned last month during the Shawnee tournament, he made a no-look outlet pass that you just don’t see at this level. With the playmaking ability leading the way, Roman Nose has a very high ceiling as an overall prospect. He had a strong spring and summer until an injury cut it short but he has been outstanding so far this season as a sophomore. He has El Reno squarely in the state title conversation in Class 5A.
We wrote about Pocola’s super sophomore
Dakotah Terrell

last week in our Pocola Practice Report but we’ll dive a little further into the growth of Terrell over the last 12 months. The 2025 class has two similar prospects in the top five with Nathan Hale’s

. Terrell has a similar frame and could end up being in the conversation with those two moving forward as top defensive big men in the state. Terrell’s combination of size and overall athleticism alone is enough to make him a borderline top ten prospect in the class. The ceiling is very high and as he continues to develop that offensive game, he’s going to be a problem for small schools that simply won’t have the size to contend with Terrell. He can jump out of the gym and the defense and rebounding is something that really impresses. As he gets stronger and the offensive moves in the paint continue to develop, we anticipate Terrell to continue trending upwards.
Broken Arrow is in the middle of a perfect season and they have a very senior-heavy team that has led them to an unbeaten record. But one of their most improved players this season has to be sophomore guard
David Howell

as he continues to grow his game on a team full of experienced players. On the offensive side of the floor, Howell is the floor general and has routinely put his teammates above himself by getting them involved. But he’s also shown the ability to score when he needs to take on more of a load when it comes to the scoring. Howell is turning himself into a very interesting point guard to watch moving forward because of his size, overall playmaking ability and the growing game when it comes to scoring. It will be very interesting to watch Howell moving forward this spring and summer. He will be preparing for the 2023-2024 school season where he’ll be the unquestioned leader of the Tigers moving forward and will be their go-to player in every way.
Hilldale sophomore Jax Kerr Jax Kerr 6'10″ | SF Owasso | 2025 State OK made a big jump in the recent ranking update and he’s knocking on the door of jumping into the Top 20. We’ve watched Kerr in person a few times this season and he had different performances in each. One performance that really stands out was back in December when they beat Catoosa on the road. Kerr did a little bit of everything on the offensive end of the floor. Kerr has legit size and can play from the perimeter as well as moving closer to the basket. On that night, Kerr was knocking down shots from the perimeter and finishing in the paint. There’s still things that Kerr can improve on as he moves forward in his career. But one of the cliches in sports is when you hear “you can’t coach size.” and Kerr has the size to be a pretty interesting wing to watch moving forward. So like several of the prospects on this breakdown, he’s still a work in progress but he also has the potential to be much better in just two years.
As we mentioned with Pocola’s Terrell, the 2025 class has some very impressive young big men already. Enid forward
Tre Davis

is another prospect that is emerging that fits that role as the 2025 class continues to get deeper among the bigs. Our staff checked out Enid earlier this season and Davis was one of the standouts as he really embraced his role as a big man and looked to dominate the paint on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. At 6’6 and a big wingspan, Davis has the potential to be a defensive nightmare for teams moving forward. Enid has a few young prospects in this 2025 class that not only are on our radar already, they have the chance to absolutely explode this spring and summer. Like Terrell, Davis is knocking on the door of being a top ten prospect overall and could sneak into the top ten if he continues to develop on the defensive side of the floor as an absolute monster for opponents to deal with.
