On Monday, our ranking updates continued with the 2025 class. You can check out the Top 65 sophomores in Oklahoma RIGHT HERE. Throughout the week, we’ll take more of a look at the 2025 class with breakdowns on various prospects throughout the rankings. In this post, we’re taking a look at five prospects that are newcomers to the most recent ranking update. These five players have not only gotten off to good starts this season, they are playing at high levels. This group is also headlined by a prospect jumping into the top five for overall prospects.
After having his freshman season hampered with because of injuries, Nathan Hale big man

was hungry to not only get on the court but he wanted to dominate. Adams has been that guy on both sides of the floor for the Rangers, who are having one of the best seasons in recent memory. Adams is a very special talent on the defensive side of the floor. He is a dominant player in the paint but he’s also shown the ability to step outside of the paint and shut down guards with his long wingspan and quickness. Then you flip the floor and look at Adams on the offensive end of the floor and there’s a lot to like there. He can shoot the ball but because he’s a big man, and because the Rangers have some very capable guards around him, he spends the majority of the time in the paint. Adams is a prospect that has a very high ceiling as he continues to develop. It’s not a bold statement to say he’s one of the biggest breakout prospects this season in Oklahoma.
Jenks sophomore guard

has had a strong high school season which continues his strong play after last spring and summer. Thompson was a prospect that I personally didn’t know much about heading into the high school season but I had heard glowing reviews of his game. After checking him out in a tournament last month, I came away impressed with his game on both ends of the floor. In the game I watched, he did a really good job defensively against a talented backcourt. And on offense, he was primarily used as a shooter and would knock down some shots from the perimeter. Physically, you can see that Thompson has the tools to be a rather special talent at the guard position. He has the frame to be a really strong combo guard and as he gains more quickness and overall athleticism, he’s going to be a problem for teams moving forward. I like Thompson’s game now, but I’m looking forward to seeing how he grows over the next year.
The Union Redhawks are a team to just keep an eye on moving forward in Class 6A because they have pieces in the 2024, 2025 and 2026 classes that are good enough to make Union a contender. In their backcourt specifically, sophomore guard

make up a strong 1-2 punch. Gunn has had a strong season as a facilitator and getting his talented teammates involved. Gunn has also had moments where he’s been asked to shoulder more of a load in the scoring department and has answered the call. But we are still waiting to see that on a more consistent basis but it should be mentioned that he’s playing within the system that Union has and he’s playing his role well. He has a good feel for the game and plays with a good pace on the offensive end of the floor. Gunn is definitely going to be a name to keep an eye on moving forward as this will be a big spring and summer for him.
Lawton has been one of the best surprise teams of the 2022-2023 season. They’ve firmly established themselves as a team to watch in Class 6A as we get closer to the playoffs. Their sophomore standout athlete
Pene Vaisagote

got on our radar back in January at the Putnam City Invitational. Vaisagote first caught our attention with his ability to fill it up from beyond the arc. But as we caught him in a few more games, as well as seeing film online, you can see an unbelievable amount of athleticism in him when he gets near the rim. He’s put down some of the best dunks in traffic this season. And we labeled Vaisagote as an athlete because we also hear he has some pretty good moves on the football field. Lawton has a few prospects that are having outstanding seasons and could end up making a run to the state tournament. And they will still be a team to watch when the 2023-2024 season rolls around and Vaisagote is a big reason why.
We mentioned yesterday in our “Stock Risers” article that Enid has a few 2025 prospects that we’re keeping an eye on moving forward.

is another example of that based on seeing him earlier this season. The 1-2 punch of Allen and fellow 2025 standout
Tre Davis

is going to be a strong duo to keep an eye on moving forward. While Davis has the potential to be a dominant big man, Allen can be a standout guard that can do a variety of things on the offensive end of the floor. In one of the games that we watched earlier this season, Allen had his shot falling from beyond the arc but you can’t categorize him as just a shooter. He also did a good job of getting his teammates involved with unselfish play. He also has the athleticism to drive to the basket and finish. And when you add in the fact that he also has Davis roaming the paint, when he attacks the rim, he’s going to have some serious help and that puts more stress on a defense.
