After a spring and summer where Dixon proved his bonafides on a nationwide scale with over 40% shooting on the Nike EYBL Circuit, he’s continued to fill it up from deep with new Grind Prep. The senior hasalways had the purest shooting strokes in this class, which often makes it look every shot is going in. Dixon is another Oklahoman headed up north, to play in the tough Jayhawk JuCo league with Independence Community College. With the proliferation of the transfer portal and COVID eligibility, a year long pit stop at the JuCo has become a common path for Oklahoma prospects to reach their D1 dreams. Expect for the Grind Prep guard to have an opportunity to follow in that path.

It’s a was a quality shooting performance from the top shooter in Oklahoma. As always, his shot looked automatic when his feet were set in catch and shoot situations. And his off the dribble and shooting while uncomfortable abilities are improving. Late in the first he caught a pass while moving away from the basket. In one fluid motion he turned to face the hoop and let it fire, with the ball barely touching the net on the way through. It was the type of big time shot to end a quarter that translates to the next level. Dixon has also developed a reliable side hop and step back three to gain separation to often hit on DEEP three pointers. His range often extends to the NBA line and even deeper.
A current drawback to his game, is even though his handle is improving and he’s getting strong, he’s often reliant on transition looks or his teammates to create looks for him. Which means there’s still some stretches where his impact is muted. This also translates to the defensive end, where he runs hot and cold. There’s times he looks like he could cause real havoc causing with ball pressure, while other times he drifts away.
The elite shooting ability Dixon provides will get his foot in the door in the next level. Now it’s about continuing to apply pressure in other aspects of his game.

This past year has involved Dixon putting a certified stamp on his reputation as the best shooter in Oklahoma’s Class of 2024. And even expanding it to being one of the best shooters nationwide after shooting over 40% from distance for a full spring and summer against EYBL competition with Team Griffin . Now at Grind Prep, Dixon is already showing signs of expanding his game. Becoming more of a weapon off the dribble and starting to become more confident handling pressure, while being quietly one of the better passers in class. The now available senior is sure to earn more college interest as he takes his game to another level.

Dixon has always been a weapon from beyond the arc, he has one of the smoothest and efficient looking shooting forms in recent years in Oklahoma. But there has always been a few “Buts” about his game. But he doesn’t play defense. But he doesn’t impact the game when he’s not shooting. But his frame is too skinny and not athletic enough for the next level.
Over the last 6 months, Dixon has put all the “Buts” to rest. He’s more competitive on the defensive end and his improvement to off the ball movement and overall energy creates a gravity to his game. He’s also started to fill out physically. With sneaky good touch as a passer, the Omaha commit is poised for a huge senior season.

Shooting has long been Dixon’s calling card. That isn’t changing anytime soon, as this spring the 918 guard has firmly established himself as an elite national shooter. After going 5-8 from three on Monday, Dixon finished the spring session shooting 44.9% from three. While the shot has always been pure, it’s been a steady overall progression for him this spring.
An underrated aspect of Dixon’s game is his passing. It’s first noticeable with his pin point post entry passes to “Big E” Madrid, his high school and AAU teammate. But it’s more than that, the sweet shooting touch he has is replicable with some of the feeds he makes, along with outstanding anticipation to see how the play will develop. As Dixon becomes physically stronger and more comfortable on the ball, he has the potential to be a very effective secondary playmaker at the next level.

is an athletic guard with length and ability to take over games at will. With the absence of Trent Pierce causing a hole in offensive and team leadership Union, Dixon stepped up and become the beacon for Union as the fought valiantly through this season. Cedric is vocal and communicates well with his teammates on the floor and is constantly in motion always moving without the ball poking at holes in the defense. Having received his first D1 offer from the university of Omaha earlier this season he’ll be on the prowl to make some noise this summer so keep your eyes open

a few times this season and it’s usually been about his growth as an overall playmaker on the offensive end of the floor. But when it comes down to it, Dixon has to be considered one of the best prospects in the state because of his ability to absolutely fill it up from beyond the arc. He’s one of the best shooters in this class and the fact that the other elements of his game are beginning to take shape, makes him even more valuable as a prospect. We’ve seen moments where Dixon has acted like the leader of this Union team and we definitely want to see more of that moving forward. Dixon has improved quite a bit in the last 12 months.

is on, the Redhawks are tough to beat and that was evident by the run that they went on early in the fourth quarter that provided them the separation they needed to get the big win over the Yellowjackets. Dixon has the potential to be one of the best shooters in the state’s 2024 class but we haven’t seen that from him all the time this season. We started to see it on the floor on Thursday as he finished with 14 points, including a couple big shots in the second half that started to swing the momentum towards Union. Dixon also did a good job of getting their big men the ball early and often.
