Speaking of hard playing seniors, Gunn also delivered in the clutch for his Redhawks. Their offense was a struggle for much of the first three quarters, but Gunn finally helped them break through. Then it was his clutch free throw shooting that won the game for Union, sending them to the semifinals.

Tempo setting point guard, who makes his teammates better just as much as he scores himself. Consistently improved his jumper throughout his high school career. And is one of the more relentless drivers and attackers in Oklahoma, especially for his size. His quick first step gives problems in the halfcourt, while he has fast long speed in transition. Coaches who like traditional point guards should be all over Gunn, because he will raise the floor of their programs. Especially with the pride and competitiveness he plays with.

The catalyst for Union’s offense. Quick guard that often looks to push the tempo. Like a traditional point guard should, he also makes an effort to feed his forwards and keep them involved down low. Ended up with 15 points, by efficiently picking his spots. Including a nasty crossover that led to an open above the break the three in the first half. Has continue to develop into a reliable, all around guard with no true weaknesses. Especially with the relentlessness he often plays with.

Hard nosed and up tempo, Gunn is a relentless driver for a guard of his size. While also capable of getting after it on defensive end. Shooting ability picked up as a junior and now is a consistent threat from beyond the arc. An added benefit to playing at Union, already has great chemistry and feel at setting up post players. From making the right reads in transition, playing off of ball screens and putting the ball high so post players can easily score, Gunn has shown all these traits and knows how to male life easier for his bigs. Good representative of the depth of Oklahoma’s class for players that will be able to slot into a role and excell at the next level.

One of the best throwback point guards in the state, Gunn had his usual array of quality passes. Which included great finds in transitions and great chemistry with his bigs through post entry passes. He broke into double figures at the half, most often off getting downhill. But there was a promising development sign when he made the defense pay twice in the contest when they gave him space from three. Defenses already have to account so much for the junior’s guard quickness and passing vision, that if he’s becoming a consistent three point threat the Union offense is often going to look unstoppable.

The junior continues to shine as a connector between the two identities that exists for Union. In the halfcourt he does a stellar job of involving their post players and is continuing to develop in the pick and roll, especially with Flemons. Or simply playing off them by being in constant motion after passing the ball.
On the flip side, when Union also able to get it and go, Gunn pushed the tempo with great vision and purpose. For a smaller guard, he has a great finishing package, understanding how to use the rim to shield the ball from shot blockers while also elevating quickly and finishing strong.

put on a complete performance every time he stepped onto the court. He filled it up with his scoring and rebounding, but also with his playmaking. He had games that he recorded eight assist and 11 assist. He has a quick first step and can get to the rim or cause the defense to break down as he attacks the gap. Whenever he would attack the gap and the defense would collapse, he would kick out to an open shooter. He also has good court vision and would hit a cutter right in stride. He has good timing with his passes and they are always right on the mark. As a guard, he resembled Josh Giddey with how he plays. He can knock down a shot or score at the rim in traffic, but he casually comes up with rebounds and a knack for being a playmaker. He is a guy that can lead your team, both in almost every category and as a true leader.
