The Top Ten

While there was a subtle change within the top 10, there was not a change in which players comprise the top ten. Here is a look at the latest version.

1. [player_tooltip player_id='1347267' first='Drew' last='Timmons'] (6'5" | Archbishop Hannan) 6. [player_tooltip player_id='1347180' first='Xavier' last='Ferguson'] (6'1" | Zachary)

2. [player_tooltip player_id='1593728' first='Christopher' last='Cenac'] (6'8" | Newman) 7. [player_tooltip player_id='1347260' first='Chris' last='Shiflett Jr'] (5'9" | Evangel)

3. [player_tooltip player_id='1347265' first='Jeremiah' last='Lucas'] (6'2" | Bonnabel) 8. [player_tooltip player_id='1596155' first='Nico' last='Jones'] (6'2" | Catholic (BR)

4. [player_tooltip player_id='1358460' first='Christopher' last='Birden'] (6'7" | Newman) 9. [player_tooltip player_id='1499023' first='Jamal' last='Drewery'] (5'10" | Scotlandville)

[player_tooltip player_id='1347267' first='Drew' last='Timmons'] is still the top ranked player in the class. He is building from a freshman campaign that led to a state title. He and his team are aiming for back-to-back titles. Chris Cenac is a player with a ton of potential who is playing with one of the top programs in the state. Lucas moves up to the third position due to how he has begun this season. He is a two-way player who is a threat at any level of the floor. Chris Birden is a wiry, athletic forward who can play inside or out. He is better around the rim right now but everyone better watch out. Mason is a combo guard who is only going to get better. He is going to make an assault on the top player position before too long.

Ferguson is next up at Zachary. He can shoot it, finish in the paint, rebound, and defend. Shiflett is one of the better point guards in the state and he has continued to approve since the summer. [player_tooltip player_id='1596155' first='Nico' last='Jones'] is a combo guard who can facilitate as well as shoot. He is a threat from multiple levels as well. [player_tooltip player_id='1499023' first='Jamal' last='Drewery'] has been one of the better guards in Louisiana since the 8th grade. His passing ability is top tier and he defends at a high level also. Rounding out the top ten is [player_tooltip player_id='1347294' first='Kerry' last='McMillian'] from JFK. He is as versatile at the point as anyone else in the class.

Movers & Shakers

As previously stated, there was not a ton of movement in the rankings. However, a couple of the players did make big jumps in their ranking status. [player_tooltip player_id='1209106' first='Ronald' last='Strong'] at Calvary Baptist has lit it up recently and moved into the top 25 of the rankings. Combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1394528' first='Travon' last='Varner'] from Neville is another one who played his way into a massive jump. He is now rated in the high 40s from his September rating in the 70s. All players will have another chance to improve their ratings as we move into district and spring play.
