Bubba helped with the defensive effort that opened up the game for Calvary. His defense on the wing guards and forwards was excellent. He crowded those players and they could not get off three point shots or mid-range jumpers. On the offensive end, he did not just spot up for threes. He used up fakes to drive the baseline and finish or find outside shooters. His 11 points were crucial in Calvary win. However, his 3 steals may have made more of an impact.

No one can light it up from three like Strong. He can get hot from deep and take a six point lead to double digits in a heartbeat. Ronald did not rest on his laurels as a shooter and worked hard this summer handling the ball more. The result was Strong attacking the rim more and not settling for jumpers. Going into his senior season, adding the drive to his game only makes Strong more of a threat.

While Strong is more known for his shooting prowess, he has become more comfortable playing both positions. Bubba has developed his handle and manages full court pressure better and his use of the high screen. Strong can pass with either hand and feed the post. He is a true dual threat at the guard position.

Ronald had a solid performance in a close loss versus ASAK 17u on Saturday playing for OWE EYCL 17u. Strong showed ability to drain the three ball under immense pressure from his defender as well as slash to the basket and finish several layups under contact. His lateral quickness on defense was impressive as well, helping him to play passing lanes and stay in front of his matchup for important defensive stops. Ronald definitely made my list of prospects flying under the radar during this live period tournament and I will continue to keep my eyes tuned to his game this fall.
