#1 Danny is a complete guard. Has the ability to take over a game. But at the same time he can run an offense. A major talent with unlimited range and a quick first step to the hole. Quick hands and feet guarding the ball. Averaging 16 per game for the Stepinac squad that every year has their eyes set for a run at the title.
#2 Some were surprised how high we ranked Tai in the CHSAA rankings posted a couple of weeks ago. But he is proving this state rank and my CHSAA ranks were worthy. If your looking for a lot of flash that’s not Tai. Tai is a basketball player. Extremely smooth like the ball is on a string connected to him. But at the same time he makes electrifying plays. Smooth jump shooter. The ball comes out of his hand with excellent rotation. Gets to the rim changing speed or direction in a split second. Knows what play to make it seems 2 plays before he has the ball. Good defender on the ball. Protects the ball well with his elusive handle. Averaging close to 16 ppg.
#5 Kayden has excellent court vision and awareness. The ball seems connected to him. Has good length. Coach has told me many times about his defensive mind set which is years beyond his age. Great anticipation instincts and the ability to use his length to guard the ball. Has deep range. But his mid range game is elite. An exciting player to watch.
#8 Like Tai Turnage Tai Turnage 5’10” | PG St Raymond’s | 2025 State #112 Nation NY , Vere is not the flashy player on the court. He is a extremely talented guard. Excellent lift on his jumper quick first step and a elusive dribble gets him to the rim. Outstanding vision makes the right pass and or play. Unlimited range and consistency to go with it. A poised calming player to have the ball at the end of games. Not to mention a skillset that has no weaknesses. Averaging 10 ppg to go along with a high assist to ratio plus a strong rebounding guard.
#9 Markel was readied for this season because of his huge minutes played as a freshman. Markel has improved in every aspect of the game. Which by the way was really good last year. The one area coach would have liked to see him improve on was his shooting beyond the arc through hard work he can now drain that shot. Either with his strong handle of off the catch. Has a really nice hesitation dribble that leads into a teardrop. He is a strong bodied guard. Very confident with the ball. Averaging 8ppg while distributing the ball to a lot of offensively talented players.
#20 Johnny a tough really quick guard. Excellent first step can beat his man off the dribble. Outstanding shooter from beyond the arc. Excellent court vision and awareness. He is a excellent passer in either the half court set or in transition. Very crafty with the ball in his hands. A quick release on his jumper.
