In terms of the best basketball talent, I felt Northeast Ohio had some of the best overall as some of the top performers were also the best players overall in the entire event.
Bundalo was the talk of the event after putting up one of the best all-around performances I saw. Excelled in pick-and-pop and shot the ball exceptionally well for a 6’9 PF. Sneakily athletic as he threw down some forceful dunks that got the attention of the entire gym.
Saturday served as my first look as the Uniontown Lake product. A swifty and crafty guard, Casenhiser did a great job reading defenses and truly taking what they provided. Whether it be blowby attacks or kick outs, he showed poise offensively and confidence.
Payne was another name that impressed our scouts on Saturday. Undersized at 6’4, Payne was a workhorse on the glass and low blocks offensively. Keeps the ball at chin level and squares up powering through contact. Showed promise with an over-the-shoulder style of play as well. Payne has tremendous upside, especially if he continues to grow. Could be a serious scholarship athlete.
Lipkins was explosive as heck and nearly crossed a guy out of the gym. His crossover and overall handle was elite and incredibly tough to stay in front of. Anticipates defensively and moves with the ball to cutoff drives. Certainly looking like a LM/D2 level prospect for college coaches.
