Let’s take a look at some of these young men that played this past weekend at the SCBCA Elite Camp in North Charleston this past weekend with Prep Hoops in attendance.
Jordan came to play today with his aggressiveness to the basket. Watford has good length and versatility to play a few different positions while on the floor.
Jordan was able to finish with both hands going to the basket and was able to absorb contact along the way. Watford is very instrumental in leading this talented Bruins squad this season in the Upstate.
Melvin has a nice thick frame that lets him overpower players going to the cup. Teal Jr connected on some jumpers when he wasn’t scoring at the basket.
Melvin saw plenty of playing time for the Green Wave last season. Look for him to carry that success over this coming season for the Green and Gold.
Kaleb is a rangy guard with a very good skill set on the floor. Evans made some crafty passes today to send up his teammates when he wasn’t getting to the rack.
Kaleb has a good presence on the hardwood and understanding of the game. Look for him to have a big season for the Wildcats.
Brooks was coming off a solid freshman season for the Chiefs where he made All-Region and led the region in blocks. Jamie still must fight through contact and get stronger at times.
Brooks really needs to stay focused moving forward and just playing more and more down the road. He’s traditional post player who needs to play just a few feet away from the cup.
Enos is a very slender-sleek forward who likes to set up shop in the corners. Evan is best suited playing out on the perimeter at times and knocking down shots. He brings good versatility to the floor.
Enos always looks to be shot ready to receive the ball in the pocket for a good look.
LJ plays very mature for his age on the floor and doesn’t backdown from nobody. Britt was able to create off the bounce or stick a perimeter jumper in the defenders face today.
LJ never looks to take a play off and always remains active on the defensive end of the floor.
Edmond is best suited off on the perimeter with his ability to knockdown shots at times. Caden is a very deceptive athlete and will surprise you at times with his athleticism.
He was able to score the ball from all 3 levels on the floor today.
Bryson is currently playing Quarterback for the Red Raiders on Friday nights this fall. Drummond is a physical guard who really looks to bully defenders at times. He finished on through contact on the way to the basket.
Bryson made some good looks today along with being in constant communication with his teammates. Drummond shows great leadership qualities on the floor.
Edwards came out firing today from the perimeter. Benett is a shooter and that’s what he does from the outside. He was able to knockdown open shots at a good clip today.
Benett plays up on the North Carolina/South Carolina border in the Upstate for the Cardinals.
Teon has a good look to him down low on the block. Tindal is still a RAW talent for the Knights and Head Coach Aric Samuel.
Teon likes playing physical and has no problems mixing it up and carving out position down low.
