Below is a review of seven Class of 2026 prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania’s who we expect to have an impact for their varsity team during the 2022-23 season.
Blake Adams Blake Adams 6'10" | PF Phelps | 2026 State PA – 6’9” / Phelps School / Team Final Red / Power Forward: Adams is stepping into a Phelps program that is stacked with college prospects. However, with his height, physique and tenacity, Adams provides a physical inside presence that should earn him minutes immediately. Adams possesses great hands and can operate in tight spaces. Those assets make him a strong finisher around the rim. His mid-range game is underrated.
Stephon Ashley-Wright Stephon Ashley-Wright 5'11" | PG Neuman-Goretti | 2026 State PA – 6’0” / Neumann-Goretti / Team Final / Combo Guard: NG’s starting five is set, but Ashley-Wright (pic above) should see significant tick off the bench. Because of his speed and filthy handles, he is a blur in transition who can score buckets or distribute. Plus, he owns a jump shot with three-point range. In August at the Check Rock League, Ashley-Wright proved that he could absolutely handle playing at the varsity level.
Joshua Benka-Coker Joshua Benka-Coker 6'7" | PF Bethlehem Catholic | 2026 State PA – 6’6” / Bethlehem Catholic / New Heights / Small Forward: Benka-Coker first grabbed our attention at Philly HS Live, where his size, athleticism and quick second jump stood out. He runs the floor extremely well, so he can fill a lane and be a transition finisher. Benka-Coker can score from either block off post ups. His face up game is solid too. For a 2026 big man Benka-Coker sees the floor well and is a solid passer.
KJ Coles KJ Coles 6'2" | CG Pocono Mountain West | 2026 State PA – 6’2” / Pocono Mountain West / New Heights / Combo Guard: One could argue that over the last four months, Coles has been the most impressive 2026 in the region. From Philly HS Live in June to the July grassroots circuit all the way through last month’s Big 64 Showcase, Coles has displayed elite quickness, the ability to score off the dribble and deep range on his jumper. His upside is unbelievable.
Kody Colson Kody Colson 5'10" | PG Imhotep Charter | 2026 State PA – 5’11” / Shipley School / Team Final / Point Guard: Colson is a high IQ scoring point guard. He can drain jumpers from all over the court, but he is especially lethal from deep. He also excels in pick-n-roll action. Additionally, he can blow past a defender off the dribble. Senior standout Darrien Grady Darrien Grady 5'9" | PG Shipley School | 2023 State PA and Colson will make for a highly entertaining backcourt at Shipley.
Oben Mokonchu Oben Mokonchu 6'6" | C Spring Ford | 2026 State PA – 6’4” / Spring Ford / Buckets LC / Power Forward: Many coaches say the quickest way for underclassmen to get varsity minutes is by playing menacing defense and cleaning the glass. Mokonchu does both of those things at a remarkable level. Plus, he is long and athletic prospect. At the offensive end, Mokonchu converts on second chance opportunities and is an effective mid-range shooter. He can also score off the bounce from either elbow.
Ian Williams Ian Williams 5'9" | PG Archbishop Carroll | 2026 State PA – 5’8” / Imhotep Charter / Team Final / Combo Guard: Obviously, the 2022-23 Imhotep roster is loaded with DI talent, but Smith should still get minutes as the lead guard for the second unit. Smith is an undersized speedster with elusive dribbling skills, an unselfish nature and tremendous court vision. That trifecta makes Smith a tremendous facilitator. He can also score the ball if needed via pull up jumpers and by blowing past his defender.
