Each of these prospects played on the varsity level last year in various roles and have also shown progression over the summer whenever we got the opportunity to see them play. Let’s take a closer look at some of the C/O 2025 Guards in the Cape Fear region that we expect to take the next step in production in the 2022-2023 season.
Last season as a freshman at TCS, he played major minutes and was one of the team leaders in field goal percentages. He has an IQ for the game that is advanced for his age, is one of the more unselfish players that you will see and does not seem to get rattled in any situation.

Antrell Gilmore
His team didn’t see a high amount of success last season, but he was one of the bright spots for the squad. He finished the season averaging just under 10 PPG and 40% shoot from the field. He has nice athletic ability that he uses on both ends of the floor and we fully expect him to have a 1st Team All-Conference type of season.
Over the summer he made the move to Pine Forest HS which should benefit both sides greatly as PF has lost some firepower over the last year due to a transfer and graduation. He has the ability to score the ball at a nice level offensively but also brings a nice amount of effort on the defensive side of the ball.
Throughout the season last year, he showed some flashes of what he could be, but he saved arguably his best performance of the season for the state playoffs. In the 2nd round of the state playoffs, he made big time plays down the stretch, attacking the paint for points and assists to teammates for easy scores.
In his first season of varsity action, he got the opportunity to get some early experience which should only benefit him this season. He had several games where he went for double figures during the season, and he followed that up with some impressive showings during AAU ball. He plays the game with toughness and has an impressive midrange game.
