Expert Analysis
Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
Herbert remains an under-the-radar prospect in the Trinity Christian School rotation to keep on DII/DIII/JUCO radars given his room to improve. He’s a slashing presence who can finish in traffic and make things happen off the bounce. He’s the Crusaders’ second-leading scorer with 12.3 points per game along with 3.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game as they’re 11-6 on the year and 4-1 so far in Sandhills Conference action. As he shows his efficiency more on the shooting front, look for his recruitment to go in the right direction.

Herbert was impressive in letting the game come to him in Pine Forest’s victory over Freedom Christian. He finished with 12 points, three assists and four rebounds to show off his ability to operate as a playmaker and scorer with the ball in his hands. He’s a 2025 prospect to keep an eye on in the 910 area.

Plays his best basketball when he’s able to get out into transition to make plays and that’s what we saw from him on Monday afternoon. His team turned up the defensive intensity as the game went on and were able to force some turnovers which led to transition buckets.

Over the summer he made the move to Pine Forest HS which should benefit both sides greatly as PF has lost some firepower over the last year due to a transfer and graduation. He has the ability to score the ball at a nice level offensively but also brings a nice amount of effort on the defensive side of the ball.
