Moore has really improved his body and overall skill with the ball in his hands recently, making me more confident in his potential to play on the perimeter next to another post oriented big man. Moore has flashed some ball-handling moves with the occasional euro-step and his jumper looks like it has the chance to become a real weapon in the future. I also love how Moore’s continued to hit the weight room and looks even stronger in his shoulders. Moore will continue to develop his perimeter skills while not forgetting how to score in the post this winter for Marysville as he gears up for the crucial 17 U spring and summer.
Knapke is one of the more physically imposing bigs in the 2024 class standing at 6’8 and probably around 240 lbs. Knapke is a dominant force around the rim who improved his aggressiveness around the basket. Knapke needs to continue to work on his hands and finishing ability as he still does leave some points at the rim occasionally. Knapke looked improved latterly when I saw him on Sunday compared to the spring as I’m excited to continue to monitor his growth.
Springer is a prospect I got a small glimpse in the spring but saw what he could really do this summer. Springer is a good athlete who showed the ability to finish around the basket explosively. I was also impressed with his defensive mobility when defending wings on the perimeter. Saint Ignatius is loaded with talent and Springer isn’t the biggest name on their team, but don’t forget about him as the Wildcats try to make it to states for a third straight year.
Johnson is a prospect who I’m really excited to continue to watch because the flashes he started to show as a perimeter shot-maker and transition athlete were very intriguing. When I watched him late in the spring he was still settling into his EYBL team and figuring things out, but after seeing some highlights of him from the summer with the same team, Johnson looked like a much more confident player with the ball in his hands. I’m excited to get another look at Johnson and see how consistent these highlight plays are as he could more further up the rankings soon.
