Continue ReadingA confident shooter with unlimited range, Hart has a quick release both off the dribble and the catch, getting the ball into his shooting pocket quickly. He’s a really good ball-handler who can navigate his way through tight spaces and he has strong court vision as well. A creative passer who can play effectively in the pick-and-roll game.
An athletic 6-1/6-2 wing, Coney plays with a lot of confidence. He’s really good when he’s playing downhill and using his athleticism and a quick first step to get to the bucket. He’s a good ball-handler with a nice crossover that he uses to get by defenders and he did a nice job finishing through contact when he got to the rim. The next step in his development will be adding some more range to his jumper. Defensively he can be a solid on-ball defender with his length and athleticism.
Hague had limited opportunities when I was watching Team 2, but he made the most of his chances, showing a quick release off the catch with really good off-ball movement. He competed hard on the defensive end, moving his feet when playing on the ball and doing a really good job of denying the pass when defending off the ball.

Gipple got off to a really good start in the game that I watched of Team 2, knocking down an early catch-and-shoot 3 and then getting another really good look a few possessions later off strong off-ball movement. He’s a long wing with good size who moves well without the ball in his hands and is constantly in motion on the offensive end. His shot is a little flat, but that may have just been from tired legs. With his size and effort on both ends, he should emerge as an impact player for the Dragons soon.
Moore is a talented playmaker who can really create his own looks at a high level. He has a quick first step and does a good job using subtle head fakes to keep the defender off balance. He knows where he’s strongest, the mid-range, and gets to his spots well, using a few hard dribbles from the wing to get to his shot. The form on his jumper is pure, with his elbow kept tight and he gets good rotation on his shot.
Severson is a long 6-3 combo guard who put together one of the best freshman seasons we’ve seen as a scorer, but he showed that he’s a really good all-around player throughout the Expo. Often times when you see a young player who can score at the clip that Severson did (19.0 points a game), they are looking to score every time they touch the ball, but that wasn’t the case with him and that was the most impressive aspect of his game. He’s a high IQ guard who does a great job changing speeds to get by defenders. He handles it well and has really good court vision. On numerous occasions he was able to break down the defense and get into the paint, then kick out to an open shooter. He’s willing to pass up his own good look for a great look for a teammate. Of course, he can also score at a high clip from all three levels, showing a smooth release on his jumper and the ability to finish through contact around the rim.

Berggren had a really good day on Saturday, showing that he can fill it up from all three levels. He moves well without the ball in his hands, finding spaces in the defense to get his shot off with a quick, smooth, and repeatable release on his jumper. After the defense started to close out on him a little harder, he showed that he can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim or free-throw line, as well as take a few hard dribbles and elevate into a mid-range jumper. He had a really strong all-around event and looks primed to step into a much larger role for the Bluejays as a junior.
A long and mobile big man with confidence in his stroke, Hoefert had some good moments throughout the morning and afternoon on both ends of the floor. He’s highly active on both ends of the floor and uses his length and athleticism to compete on the glass. He runs the floor hard, filling lanes in transition for finishes, and he has the ability to stretch the floor. Central Lyon lost some key pieces from last year’s 2A runner-up team, so there will be opportunity for Hoefert to make an impact as a sophomore.
