Expert Analysis
Tony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
Berggren is due for a major leap in the next rankings after a dominant spring and summer as a three-level scorer for an Iowa Hoop Dreams team that played really well at a majority of the tournaments they played in. A crafty scoring threat with good size at 6-4, Berggren has a pure stroke off both the dribble and the catch, and he pairs that with a willingness to post up smaller defenders, showing great footwork and touch in that part of the floor. He can invert the offense as a scorer and facilitator. He competes on the glass on both ends of the floor and plays hard on the defensive end.

Berggren also poured in 22 points in the Hoop Dreams win, with 11 coming in each half of play. Throughout the summer, he has established himself as one of the best shooters in Iowa’s 2024 class, showcasing a smooth, repeatable stroke, quick release, and extended range. He’s a talented all-around offensive weapon who will post up smaller defenders, create off the dribble, and pound the offensive glass for easy putbacks, but it’s his shooting that is his biggest weapon and asset.

Shooting guard who is always ready in catch-and-shoot situations outside of the three point line. Doesn’t settle to much when he is over-played from behind the arch. Player whose games really fits the spread offense formation as he is better playing off of the ball rather then having it in his hands all the time. Can catch on fire in blink of an eye and go off for 3-4 three’s in a row. Good defensive instincts. Always jumps to the ball, usually creating a tip or deflection, leading to a turnover for his squad.
