We’ll start with my stomping grounds in Tampa. Throw classes out the window as we go through these exercises. Also don’t focus too much on their current rankings there’s a shake up coming.
Our number 1 player in the city is the number 1 player in the state’s loaded 2024 class. He’s shown scoring dominance throughout the summer, averaging 19 points per game in two age groups. FSU, Kentucky, and LSU are just a few other names involved with the 5-star prospect. The 6’6 two guard is physical, plays with aggression, and knows how to put the ball in the hoop when the ball is in his hands.
Furman’s latest recruit is a skilled scorer that can contain his man on defense. This placement gives Tampa Catholic the two best players in the city. Bronson will enter his senior year looking for his first state title after three final fours. The 6’4 combo guard will be part of one of the most talented perimeter units in the state.
Gross continues to garner attention from D1 programs, making this the most challenging placement on this list. The 6’5 combo guard was the head of the snake for a team that fell short in the state title game and has a great chance to get back there. The rising senior has a dangerous pull up jumper, the length and athleticism to guard up and down the perimeter, and a handle that creates space. Most players don’t increase their average once they cross the 20 point threshold, but that may not be the case for Gross.
MacGregor is known as one of the city’s best competitors, if not the state. The 2024 guard is tough and equipped with a motor that allows someone listed at 6’1 to grab 8.5 rebounds a game. He came off a monster sophomore season where he added 20 points per game and 5 assists to those big rebounding numbers. His stock rose this summer after earning an offer from Stetson during the June live period. His summer team, the Florida Rebels made the EYBL Peach Jam final four behind his 12 points and 4 assists per game.
- Isaiah Campbell-Finch Isaiah Campbell-Finch 6'1" | PG Tampa Catholic | 2025 State #361 Nation FL
Campbell-Finch clocks in as the second pure point guard off the board as a 2025 prospect. Few guards have the craft the Ohio native possesses. I give the young guard the nod over several older lead guards in the area based on the high-level play of his freshman, including a 20-point game against IMG national. His upside, fearless play against top-ranked older competition, defense, and IQ all make Isaiah a premier guard in the state.
- Karmello Branch Karmello Branch 6'3" | SF Tampa Catholic | 2023 State FL
Branch would be the fourth Tampa Catholic player on this list if he didn’t transfer to Wharton during the offseason. Like his former teammates, Branch holds D1 offers. He’ll likely step into the lead role 2022 prospect and county all-star Trevor Dyson left. If Wharton can replicate their final four run, it will be on the back of his two-way play and lead to more looks from the next level.
Highlights
At 6’5 with a well-developed frame and a knack for scoring at all three levels, it’s hard to overlook Jackson’s production. He made second team all SIAA in his first year with Oldsmar Chrisitan Academy as a top 3 scorer on a elite eight team. The 2023 prospect picked up a Chicago State offer and could reel in a few more offers from his interest list as the season gets underway.
- Jordin Bell
Highlights
It may be early to put Bell this high on a regardless of class list, but production, potential, and a shiny new offer from NJIT give him a great argument. Next level quickness, consistent mid and long range shooting, and a competitive edge are highlights for the 2024 guard. After scoring 19.6 points a game as a sophomore, he took the same approach to the summer scoring 20+ a game in each event for the Showtime Ballers.
Wilson is a newcomer to the area. The 6’7 combo forward is a do it all Swiss Army knife. He defends wings and bigs, can hit the outside shot, makes the offense move with his passing, rebounds, and scores from 15 feet and in. That’s just scratching the surface of what the Division 1 scholarship holder will bring to the SIAA and Oldsmar Christian.
- Ramone Seals Ramone Seals 6'4" | CG SLAM Tampa | 2024 State FL
I’ve been high on Seals since the beginning of his sophomore season, and national scouting platforms have noticed. He’s now listed at 6’6 and still holds on to effortless, above-the-rim athleticism and gravity-defying finishes. He’s still figuring out the game, which makes him so intriguing. There’s a gear he hasn’t reached yet. With him stepping up as the focal point in SLAM Tampa’s offense, this could be the year his game takes shape.
