Spring Kickoff Recap: Top Wings

<p>Spring is here and that can only mean one thing. It’s Circuit Season! The Prephoops Circuit is upon us. I will be covering and providing exposure for the Hustle Region Circuit. The Hustle Region Circuit consists of AAU Programs from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, and New Mexico. The circuit features 10 stops including the Hustle Region Final in Irvine July 15th – 17th. Stop number 2 took place in Denver, Colorado with the Spring Kick-Off. The event featured nearly 100 programs ranging from age 15U – to 17U. The event also featured some high-level wings. In this article, we take a look at the top wing prospects of the event. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1416316" first="Parker" last="Baumann"] <em>6’5 SG BDH Elite 2023</em> - Bauman showed good scoring ability, displaying a nice 1 v 1 game. He attacked in transition, using a layup package that allowed him to finish around rim protectors. He was able to knock down shots, being most effective when using two or fewer bounces to hit mid-range jumpers. </p> <p><strong>Tevin Riehl</strong> <em>6’0 SG Rising Stars 2024</em> - Riehl was a big-time scorer that could have easily made my top bucket getter list. He was nice in transition finishing at the rim. His aggressive attacking style led to several trips to the free-throw line, which he was able to take advantage of, knocking down a bunch of FTs throughout the weekend. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1270693" first="Dane" last="Lewis"] <em>6’2 SG BDH Elite 2023</em> - Lewis seemed to be either hit or miss, but when he was on, he couldn’t miss. He showed the ability to space the floor from the 2, knocking down some catch and shoot threes. He also handled some PG duties, playing both while initiating the offense and defending opposing ballhandlers. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1420178" first="Peyton" last="Torres"] <em>6’2 SG Colorado Anarchy 2023</em> <em>(featured image)</em> - Torres was one of the smoothest scorers at the event and he was one of the better tough shot makers I saw. Torres showed good concentration, knocking down shots with hands in his face, including a tough contested three in the game I watched. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="965779" first="Armon" last="Baker"] <em>6’2 SG Colorado Anarchy 2023</em> - Baker played like a bundle of energy, so much so that you never really knew what he was going to do. He showed good wiggle, using some quick COD’s to get past defenders. Baker loved to use the crossover dribble and to get into the paint and then either euro or use his quick jump ability to finish over the help defender. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1139986" first="Brady" last="Varney"] <em>6’3 SF NOCO 2023</em> - Varney was more point forward type, who seemed to be one of the better grab and go, guys, I saw. A high IQ player, Varney consistently played with his head up and was always looking to make plays either for himself or teammates.
