With the H.S Season less than a week away, here is a look at our Pre-Season top 10 4A Teams.

Spring Valley - The Grizzlies are loaded, and have every skill and need covered. The ball will be in the hands of one of the most talented PGs in the state [player_tooltip player_id="986798" first="Alijah" last="Adem"]. He’ll be flanked by two of the cities top snipers in [player_tooltip player_id="986968" first="Jamison" last="McCall"] and [player_tooltip player_id="986969" first="Jordon" last="Cosby"]. They’ve got microwave scorer [player_tooltip player_id="1177252" first="RJ" last="Nance"], ready to provide instant offense, and two of the best athletes in the conference in [player_tooltip player_id="1129386" first="Pharaoh" last="Compton"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1137209" first="Desean" last="Moreno"]. The aforementioned Compton has spent the last 365 days tearing down rims across the Southwest. This team can win games in multiple ways and has a cold-blooded assassin in Adem, who seems to salivate at late-game moments.

Las Vegas - Vegas will have a puncher’s chance every night because of the play of their backcourt. Superstar guards [player_tooltip player_id="1220975" first="Tavionte" last="Jackson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="856644" first="TJ" last="Brown"] will shoulder the brunt of the scoring, however, this team will need other contributors to step up. Look for forward [player_tooltip player_id="1328936" first="Justin" last="White"] to help with the scoring slack, while forwards [player_tooltip player_id="1328965" first="Aidan" last="Wilson"] and Marcus Gomez provide the intangibles and dirty work.

Silverado - The Skyhawks are a serious threat. Led by a D1 PG in [player_tooltip player_id="1286525" first="Kenyon" last="Giles"], they could be poised to make some noise Giles won’t have to do it alone, [player_tooltip player_id="1286637" first="Jeron" last="Haynes"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1105245" first="Kollin" last="Ngo"] are two of the most underrated shooters in the conference, [player_tooltip player_id="1266707" first="Michael" last="Andersen"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1281194" first="Julius" last="Robinson"] are both freshmen ready to make an impact. Under 1st-year coach Andy Johnson, I expect this team to round into shape come February.

Cheyenne - The Desert Shields have been laying under the radar for the last year, but I expect coach Fair’s bunch to be ready. They are led by one of the top duos in the conference in 3 and D specialist [player_tooltip player_id="859657" first="Donavan" last="Webster"] and Swiss Army Knife guard [player_tooltip player_id="800966" first="Andrick" last="Santillan"]. High IQ PG [player_tooltip player_id="985641" first="Christopher" last="Rodriguez"], will run the offense, and coach Fair expects to be as much as 10 deep this season. Keep an eye out for senior Forward David Tinner who coach Fair says could have a breakout season.

Sierra Vista - This could be a banner year for SV. The Lions are a deep and talented team. Senior leaders [player_tooltip player_id="928923" first="Gianni" last="Rodriguez"] and [player_tooltip player_id="985612" first="Christian" last="Martin"] form one of the top duos in the conference and [player_tooltip player_id="1267555" first="EJ" last="Dacuma"] has an opportunity to take home freshmen of the year honors. On any given night the Mountain Lions can get contributions from the likes of [player_tooltip player_id="986807" first="Michael" last="Socorro"], [player_tooltip player_id="1075859" first="Immanuel" last="Reed"], or [player_tooltip player_id="787653" first="Malakai" last="Christian"]. Watch out for high-energy forward [player_tooltip player_id="1267712" first="Kyrance" last="Jefferson"], as he should have an impact with his energy and effort.

Mojave - The Rattlers will rely on a deep and athletic roster to wear opponents into submission. Talented freshmen [player_tooltip player_id="1268866" first="CJ" last="Shaw"] leads the way, but he will have a ton of help. PG [player_tooltip player_id="1292251" first="Casen" last="Lochridge"] has a chance to emerge throughout the season, [player_tooltip player_id="1268865" first="Jamarion" last="Smith"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1268862" first="Zakeus" last="Mcdowell"] will be a problem running the wings, and [player_tooltip player_id="1015503" first="TJ" last="McTyer"] and [player_tooltip player_id="985628" first="Giali" last="Chapman"] are a threat to take over games late.

Valley - The Vikings will be led by tough-as-nails PG [player_tooltip player_id="985630" first="Nakalya" last="Fabello"], who returns as one of the few players in the state with Varsity experience. Keep an eye on talented freshman [player_tooltip player_id="1235060" first="Kevin" last="Wilkins"] who should be an instant contributor. The Vikings open up the season on the road against #1 Spring Valley.

Legacy - The longhorns will use a combination of speed, and length. PG [player_tooltip player_id="1292326" first="Ari" last="Swope"] is a downhill driving bucket getter that has a chance to be an all-conference player, and [player_tooltip player_id="1298347" first="Marcus" last="Lawson"] is on the verge of being a breakout player. Keep an eye on Freshman [player_tooltip player_id="1285970" first="Antonio" last="Burns"] who has a chance to take home freshman of the year honors.

Cimarron - The Spartans have talent and play as hard as any team in the state. They have two potential POY candidates in forward [player_tooltip player_id="1277287" first="Tayan" last="Thompson"] and corner sniper [player_tooltip player_id="859654" first="Miles" last="Mitchell"]. [player_tooltip player_id="859661" first="Kiante" last="Atchison"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1020764" first="Donte" last="Turner"] are versatile two-way players that will contribute for the squad.

Basic - The Wolves have one of the state’s largest and most athletic teams. They will be led by their frontcourt which features rising senior [player_tooltip player_id="1123633" first="David" last="Estes"] and hardworking glue guy [player_tooltip player_id="1202820" first="Bryon" last="Owskowski"]. Guard play will come from two of the quickest guards in the conference [player_tooltip player_id="1330122" first="DJ" last="Jackson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1330085" first="Tayshaun" last="Waldrop"]. Chris Baltierrez is a sophomore sniper that should provide valuable shooting. Keep an eye out for big man [player_tooltip player_id="1308944" first="Tranel" last="Bradley"] who should provide even more depth to their frontcourt.
