fought hard to keep his Rattlers close with Bishop Gorman. He was driving to the cup and hitting shots from the outside. Two of his baskets came off emphatic dunks. Unfortunately for him, Bishop Gorman threw multiple defenders at him over the course of the game. Which prevented him for going off for 25+ points like his a capable of.

exploded off the ground for a putback dunk. Then right before halftime, he splashed in a 3-pointer. In the second half he continued to make plays for the Rattlers, especially on defense. He was picking off passes, which helped throw Silverado out of rhythm.

showed why he’s one of the best players in the state once again. He made play after play for the Rattlers and Arbor View had a tough time getting him out of rhythm on offense. He had 2 steals that led to easy transition points for himself, and he also threw down a nasty one hand slam.

had a semi-slow start, but he did drain a shot from beyond half court right before the second quarter ended. Later in the game he started to take matters into his own hands. Shaw started to hit jumpers, free throws, and he managed to get to the basket on a couple of occasions. Although it wasn’t his best offensive performance from, he certainly battled out there.

splashed a 3 in the beginning of the game and then fell quiet for a bit. He came back alive in the 4th quarter though and almost helped the Rattlers snag a comeback win. Shaw just kept competing and went on a personal run where he scored 12 points for Mojave in the span of just a few minutes. He was slicing through the defense and also got to the free throw line.

The Wildcats stayed right with Mojave most of the way, but Shaw’s reliable production on offense was tough for Las Vegas High School to keep up with. Eventually he and the Rattlers pulled away in the 4th quarter. Shaw was getting by defenders and scored quite a few layups, as well as a dunk. I also noticed him making life difficult for the Wildcats guards on the defensive end with his length and athleticism.

has been stellar this season. He has a game-winner against Parish-Episcopal, and has been a reliable producer in other big time match-ups that Mojave has had. At the moment he is averaging, 20.9 PPG (9th in the state in scoring) while shooting 55% from the field. Shaw is also averaging an impressive 6.7 assists per game and 3.7 steals per game.

opened the Tark Classic with a stellar performance. He played with a lot of poise and consistently got to his spots on offense. I was also a fan of the way he played the passing lanes on defense, which led to a couple of steals. Shaw finished the game as Mojave’s leading scorer, with 26 points.

will be taking his talents to Santa Barbara. The shifty guard can light it up in a hurry, which is likely why the Gaucho’s coveted him. Shaw was also considering: Xavier, West Virginia, Utah State, UNLV, and Saint Mary’s College of California. Now that Shaw has made his commitment, he can lock in and prepare to lead Mojave to a potential state title run. Coach Joe Pasternack of UC Santa Barbara got ta good one!

can score at will and uses a variety of moves to get to his spots. I expect him to lead all of 5A in scoring again this year and I wouldn’t be surprised if he averaged closer to 30. Now that he has more experience, he seems poised to lead Mojave even further into the playoffs.
