While it’s impossible to see everyone, I’ve seen enough to have an idea about who’s going to perform. This year is unique as two classes will be making their H.S debuts. In this article, we take a look at our top 10 impact freshmen and sophomore.
- Alijah Adem Alijah Adem 6'2" | PG Spring Valley | 2024 State #174 Nation NV 6’1 PG Spring Valley (#7PHN 2024) – Probably the easiest one on the list. Adem will have the ball in his hand, is surrounded by weapons, and plays for a squad capable of winning the 4A crown.
- DJ Thomas DJ Thomas 6'2" | PG Liberty | 2024 #19 Nation NV 6’1 PG Liberty 2024 (#1PHN 2024) – Thomas will be one of the key guys for a Liberty squad with their sites set on a 5A crown.
- David Nealy David Nealy 6'2" | SG Stranahan | 2026 #27 Nation FL 6’2 PG Bishop Gorman (#5PHN 2024) – Richardson should stuff the stat sheet as Gorman goes for a national record 10 straight state titles.
- Mason Brown Mason Brown 6'1" | PG Durango | 2025 CA-S 6’1 PG Durango 2025 (#1PHN 2025) – Durango is loaded, but Brown is good enough to receive playing time, and help the Trailblazers reach their goal.
- Conner Sheets Conner Sheets 6'1" | CG Spanish Springs | 2025 CA-N 6’1 CG Spanish Springs 2025 (#16PHN 2025) – According to coach Penny, Sheets could be the most skilled player to ever come through his program.
- Lonnie Bass Jr Lonnie Bass Jr 6'8" | PF Mater East | 2025 State NV 6’7 PF Rancho 2025 (#5PHN 2025) – Has a legit chance to average a double double as a freshman.
- Taj DeGourville Taj DeGourville 6'4" | SF Red Rock Academy | 2024 State #203 Nation NV 6’4 SG Durango 2024 (#4PHN 2024) – Strong scoring guard, with high level 1 v 1 ability.
- CJ Shaw CJ Shaw 6'3" | SG Mojave | 2025 State #212 Nation NV 6’3 SG Mojave 2025 (#8PHN 2025) – Love what he does on both ends. Shaw is not flashy, but I expect him to be effective.
- Khamari Taylor Khamari Taylor 5'11" | CG Desert Oasis | 2024 State NV 5’11 CG Sierra Vista (#20PHN 2024) – Outside chance to win defensive player of the year in the 4A conference.
- Jamarion Smith Jamarion Smith 6'2" | SF Mojave | 2024 State NV 6’2 SF Mojave 2024 (#24PHN 2024) – Should have his hands in everything for the Rattlers this year.
