Kennedy Hayden Kennedy Hayden 6'3" | CG Ballard | 2022 State KY , Ballard – “Keno” has had a strong off season but he also has grown and bulked up over the last 6-9 months. Ballard is loaded with weapons but Hayden could be the X factor for them thanks to his great positional size and skill set. If he shows that his strong fall league is not a fluke, Ballard could have the best backcourt in the state for the next 2 years.
Darien Lewis Darien Lewis 6'1" | PG Fern Creek | 2022 State KY , Fern Creek – With the transfer of Zek Montgomery, a bunch of shots per game opened up for the Tigers and Lewis could be the biggest beneficiary of them all. Playing in a backcourt with Jaden Roger, Lewis should be able to play on and off the ball. If he becomes a better 3 point shooter this season, D1 offers could be coming next summer.
Brady Bell Brady Bell 6'6" | SF Russell | 2022 State KY , Russell – If you want a prospect who passes the eye test, look no further than Bell. Brady is a big wing with good athleticism and solid shooting touch. As a Sophomore, he shot 37% from three and showed he can keep up with teams like Newport and Frederick Douglass athletically. With a big Junior season, he could play his way on to some D1 radars.
Rico Carr-Cole Rico Carr-Cole 5'10" | SG DeSales | 2022 State KY , North Oldham – Another player who had a huge fall with camps and leagues, Rico looks like he could be a big time factor in the 8th region. He and Dallas Roberts Dallas Roberts 6'1" | PG North Oldham | 2023 State KY are a formidable backcourt and if Cole-Carr shows he can defend bigger guards every night out, he could be in the mix for top player in the 29th district.
Sam Powell Sam Powell 6'7" | PF Oldham County | 2022 State KY , Oldham County – Another player whose stock has taken off in recent months, Sam has good positional size and has shown he can score at every level. Younger players almost never see the floor at Oldham County but Powell has waited his turn and should get a chance to get some minutes this season on a loaded Oldham team.
Tucker Blanford Tucker Blanford 6'6" | SF Bullitt East | 2022 State KY , Bullitt East – Stop me if you see a trend here but Tucker shined in the fall league and in the Invite league. Heading into his Junior season, Blanford is primed to be the best player for the Chargers this season and his blue collar work ethic is going to give a lot of teams in the 6th region problems on a nightly basis.
Cole Davis Cole Davis 6'2" | PG South Oldham | 2022 State KY , South Oldham – Davis, like Powell, has waited his turn at an Oldham County powerhouse. Don’t be surprised if Cole is the leading scorer for the Dragons this year. He can really shoot it but has also become more athletic in the last year. Don’t sleep on Davis being an impact player in the 8th region this season.
Cade Stinnett Cade Stinnett 6'3" | SG Greenwood | 2022 State KY , Greenwood – Cade doesn’t necessarily fit the profile of the rest on this list because he’s been a top performer in the 4th region but this could be the year that he makes the leap to the next level. Stinnett is super skilled but is going to have more on his plate this season after Noah Stansbury opted to go ahead and go to Western Kentucky early. He could be the 4th region player of the year if he has a big season and Greenwood gets over the hump and back to the regional tournament.
