Leroy Zigbou Leroy Zigbou 6'2" | SF Southwest Guilford | 2024 State NC | 6’2 Guard/Wing | Southwest Guilford
Zigbou is an emerging prospect that’s aggressive getting downhill and making things happen in the paint. He made waves with the Greensboro Nets on the Big Shots stage during the grassroots season. He’s got a ton of athleticism in his wheelhouse and uses it on both ends to make his impact felt on the court. He’s a prospect with varsity potential right out of the gates.
Andrew Neal Andrew Neal 5'9" | PG Apex | 2024 State NC | 5’5 Point Guard | Apex
Given his height at 5-foot-5, Neal could find himself on the JV squad at Apex, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him spend some time on varsity given his knack for knocking down the 3-ball and running the show at the point guard position. He’s certainly due to grow over the next few seasons and should be a solid prospect to track over the next few seasons.
Charles Matheka Charles Matheka 5'11" | SG East Carteret | 2024 State NC | 5’8 Shooting Guard | Beaufort
Matheka is a confident shooter on the perimeter and then some that’s just scratching the surface of what he can do. He’s been a standout sharpshooter with the Eastern Carolina Phenomz on the Big Shots stage while leading the 14U division in 3-pointers made on a number of occassions. He’s a growing name in the 2024 class.
Shamel Baker Shamel Baker 6'0" | PG East Carteret | 2024 State NC | 6’1 Guard | East Carteret
Baker is another Eastern Carolina Phenomz product that’s gracing the list. He was their leader in more ways than one given his ability to create off the bounce and score on all three levels at a high rate. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Baker play some type of role on the varsity squad in 2020-21.
Tymar Kearney Tymar Kearney 6'3" | SF Louisburg | 2024 State NC | 6’3 Forward | Louisburg
Kearney is a prospect set to make waves this season at Louisburg with his ability to do the little things. He was a top performer at the Fab 40 Middle School event this past fall, flying around for blocks and getting to the rim for buckets. He’s got nice length at 6-foot-3 that should allow him to play multiple roles next season.
Amare Bethel Amare Bethel 6'3" | PG Charlotte Country Day School | 2024 State NC | 6’0 Guard | Northwood Temple
Bethel is going to make a solid backcourt mate alongside Jaquantae Harris Jaquantae Harris 6'1" | PG Northwood Temple | 2022 State NC in 2020-21. Don’t be surprised if the two run the tables on the varsity stage this season given Bethel’s ability to fill it up on all three levels. He was a standout on the grassroots stage this past summer with TLBA Hoops.
Wyatt DeGraaf Wyatt DeGraaf 6'10" | C Cary Academy | 2024 State NC | 6’8 Forward/Center | Durham Academy
DeGraaf is an emerging big man with a ton of potential on both ends. He’s active on the glass and altering shots in the halfcourt and offensively, he’s coming along as a back-to-the-basket threat. He’ll be a name to know this year at Durham Academy.
Ari Fulton Ari Fulton 6'7" | SF Westover | 2024 State NC | 6’6 Forward/Wing | South View
Fulton is an emerging prospect with some versatility in his wheelhouse already at 6-foot-6. He’s got the handle-ability of a guard while still maintaining the ability to get in the paint and finish over other post players. Defensively, he’s a presence that can fly around blocks and rebounds as well. He’s due for a strong freshman season at South View.
Demondre Haymon Demondre Haymon 6'8" | PF Northern Nash | 2024 State NC | 6’6 Forward | Northern Nash
Haymon is one of a few talented prospects at Northern Nash to keep an eye on. He’s a prospect that can operate on all three levels already and fill it up in a hurry. He joins a talented group already and gives them a versatile piece at 6-foot-6 that can operate inside and out. It remains to be seen if he’ll appear on JV, varsity or both but his best days of basketball are surely ahead of him.
Josh Helms Josh Helms 6'0" | CG Laney | 2024 State NC | 6’0 Guard | Laney
Helms is a rising guard prospect in the 2024 class at Laney High. He’s got a nice stroke already from behind the perimeter that he showcased at the FAB40 Middle School event this past fall. He’s got a nice feel for when to shoot and when to look for others on the hardwood and is a solid player to track at Laney High this season.
